Job Description 65,000-70,000 Salary, Full Time, Day/Night/Weekends/Overtime Ventura, CA 93003 High End Retirement Community seeking Front of House Dining Manager The Front of the House (FOH) Dining Manager provides overall supervision, training, and leadership for all restaurant dining operations within a high-end retirement community. This role requires a people-first approach—ensuring that residents, families, and guests experience gracious hospitality, professional service etiquette, and consistently exceptional dining experiences. The FOH Manager develops staff through training, mentorship, and food safety compliance, while upholding the highest standards of hospitality and organizational culture. Essential Functions: • Supervise dining room staff, set schedules, provide training, and deliver regular performance feedback, fostering a respectful and professional service culture., • Lead FOH training programs focused on hospitality etiquette, fine dining protocol, food safety, and personalized service., • Serve as a role model for service excellence, ensuring staff greet residents by name, anticipate needs, and deliver dining with warmth, dignity, and professionalism., • Oversee reservations, table assignments, and guest flow to ensure efficient and pleasant dining experiences., • Conduct daily pre-shift meetings to review expectations, service standards, and upcoming events., • Ensure FOH areas are elegant, organized, and welcoming, reflecting the community’s high standards., • Resolve resident and guest concerns with empathy, discretion, and professionalism., • Ensure proper service standards, including accuracy of orders, quality of presentation, and attentiveness to dietary preferences and restrictions., • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and culinary team to deliver seamless service for themed dinners, holiday celebrations, and special events., • Provide hands-on support during service when necessary, maintaining visibility and engagement with residents., • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local food safety, sanitation, and health regulations, ensuring all FOH staff are trained and certified where required., • Train and mentor staff in formal service protocol, fine dining etiquette, and resident-centered hospitality., • Support community events, catering, and celebrations, ensuring a polished and gracious dining experience., • Participate in resident food committee meetings, listening to feedback and implementing service improvements., • Be prepared to work in any FOH service position when needed to maintain exceptional service standards., • Deliver consistently exceptional dining service in alignment with a hospitality-first philosophy., • Maintain and update FOH training programs with emphasis on service etiquette, people-first dining, and food safety., • Achieve and maintain a score of 90 or above on all health and food safety inspections., • Promote a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and respect within FOH staff. Skills & Knowledge • Strong leadership and training experience in food service and hospitality, ideally in high-end dining or luxury environments., • In-depth knowledge of service etiquette, formal dining protocol, food safety practices, and sanitation standards., • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage warmly with seniors, families, and guests., • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure in a fast-paced dining environment., • Must be available for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as scheduled., • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or culinary education preferred., • Minimum 2 years of FOH management experience in high-end restaurant, hotel, or hospitality settings; experience in retirement or healthcare hospitality a plus., • ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety credential required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)., • Age 21 or over; must meet all federal, state, and licensing requirements (DOJ/FBI clearance, First Aid, TB test, etc.). #Directhire Company DescriptionWe’re Rebranding: Culinary Staffing is Becoming GoLive!
