Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Assembly Technician II, Mechanical FLSA Status: Nonexempt Department: Supply Chain Reports to: Manager, Fleet Production & Service LTI GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE: The Assembly Technician II, Mechanical is responsible for assembly, parts ordering, troubleshooting, prototype building and testing in the shop and field. Job functions will be a mix of working in teams and as an individual. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Functional & Technical Skills • Build rail-related equipment such as custom truck bodies, automation kits, and lubrication systems., • Perform equipment maintenance, procurement, and setup., • Develop and fabricate prototype assemblies., • Perform benchmark testing and pre-production testing support., • Order, deliver, pick up, and installation of parts., • Maintain a clean and orderly workspace in a shared shop environment, • Identify areas to improve documentation related to testing and parts procurement., • Identify production process improvements. 1. Technical Learning REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 3+ years’ experience of mechanical work Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Problem solving/analysis, • Technical capability in hydraulic and mechanical systems, • Basic computer skills, • Able to build to engineering drawings and schematics Education: Associates degree in a related field or a Technical degree Experience: Welding experience Licenses/Certifications: Maintain Mechanical Training – Technical Electric, Hydraulic, or Maintenance Obtain and maintain Railroad Certifications and CDL WORKING CONDITIONS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the role.
