Title: Job Coach, CHI (CHW Workforce Development) Location: Boston, MA (Hybrid) Compensation: $29-30/hour, minimum 25 hours per week Employment Type: Part-Time, Temporary (Maternity Leave Coverage) Duration: Approximately 6 months, anticipated from late March 2026 through early September 2026 About Asian Women for Health Asian Women for Health (AWFH) is a community-based nonprofit committed to advancing health equity for AANHPI women and marginalized communities through community engagement, education, and representation. We believe that those most impacted by health disparities should be centered as leaders, educators, and change agents in building healthier futures for all. AWFH’s Community Health Impact (CHI) Program equips individuals from underrepresented backgrounds with the skills and credentials needed to enter the health workforce as Community Health Workers (CHWs). Many participants are immigrants, women of color, and individuals experiencing underemployment or unemployment, making this program a crucial pathway to economic mobility, empowerment, and community-driven change. This position reports directly to the Senior Program Manager, CHI. Position Summary The Job Coach, CHI (CHW Workforce Development) supports CHI trainees and graduates in securing employment as Community Health Workers and advancing along career pathways in health, human services, and community leadership. The role focuses on individualized career coaching, job-readiness support, employer engagement, and job-placement tracking. The Job Coach partners with participants throughout their employment journey to build confidence, strengthen application materials, navigate employment barriers, and connect with job opportunities. The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, active listener, and motivator who can meet participants where they are, provide culturally responsive guidance, and support individuals in taking concrete steps toward stable, meaningful employment. This is a hybrid, part-time position based in downtown Boston. Key Responsibilities CHW Job Coach & Placement • Serve as the primary point of contact for trainees and alumni in their employment journey., • Conduct regular (biweekly or as needed) one-on-one coaching sessions to assess goals, progress, and barriers., • Support participants with resume development, cover letters, job search strategies, and online applications., • Conduct mock interviews and provide individualized feedback., • Guide participants in developing professional skills, including workplace communication, professionalism, and confidence-building., • Monitor completion of required job readiness training and asynchronous career modules as part of the participant’s CHW Training graduation requirements., • Track job search activity (e.g., weekly applications) and follow when engagement declines., • Identify barriers to employment and connect participants to appropriate resources or referrals., • Represent AWFH at community events, job fairs, and outreach sessions to promote the program. Employer Partnerships • Build and maintain relationships with employers in healthcare, community-based organizations, and social services., • Support the Senior Program Manager in identifying employer workforce needs and aligning candidate preparation accordingly., • Gather employer feedback to strengthen training alignment and placement outcomes., • Coordinate and host employer information sessions, career panels, or hiring events., • Match qualified AWFH graduates to job opportunities and provide referrals or warm handoffs to employer partners. Data Tracking, Reporting, & Program Coordination • Maintain accurate records of coaching activities, job search progress, and employment outcomes., • Report placements and retention data in internal systems and funder databases (including Upwardly Global and other reporting platforms)., • Serve as the primary liaison with Upwardly Global and other employment support partners., • Assist with scheduling, participant communications, and career-related program logistics as needed. Collaboration & Communication • Work closely with the Senior Program Manager, CHW Trainer, and Program Coordinator to support cohort success and participant retention., • Share participant trends, employment barriers, and employer feedback to inform program refinement., • Partner with the Communications team to develop culturally relevant recruitment materials, outreach efforts, and participant success stories., • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to ongoing program improvement and planning. Qualifications Required: • Deep knowledge of and/or lived experience in Boston’s Asian, immigrant, or historically marginalized communities., • At least 6 years of experience in career coaching, job placement, workforce development, recruitment, hiring, or a related field, with direct experience supporting individuals in securing employment., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across diverse communities and language backgrounds., • Ability to manage multiple participants and prioritize client needs independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment., • Comfort with public speaking, employer engagement, and community outreach., • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and willingness to learn data tracking and case management systems. Preferred: • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (especially Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Cape Verdean Creole), • Experience in nonprofit, public health, workforce development, or community-based settings., • Familiarity with Community Health Worker roles, competencies, or certification pathways., • Knowledge of Boston-area healthcare, social service, or workforce development systems., • Experience working with immigrants, English language learners, or individuals facing employment barriers. Work Environment • Hybrid position: In-office at least 2 days per week, with flexibility for remote work, • Office location: Downtown Boston in a collaborative co-working space, • Occasional evening or weekend hours for outreach events, training sessions, or research activities.
