Job Description JSM Airport Services, LLC is accepting applications for a qualified and experienced BHS Shift Supervisor - Trainer to join our team! The BHS Shift Supervisor is a first-line manager with varied responsibilities, including, but not limited to, the satisfactory maintenance of the airport Baggage Handling Systems (BHS). The BHS Shift Supervisor has a primary goal to plan, manage, and direct all maintenance activities. This will include the oversight of employees, production, and efficiency, making sure the operation is running smoothly, quickly, efficiently, and safely. This position is also responsible for achieving efficient and quality work production, maintaining quality standards and volume requirements, and accomplishing goals and objectives set forth in the company’s strategic plan. Benefits and Perks You’ll Appreciate: • Ongoing career development and training opportunities, • Collaborate with a team in a dynamic environment, • Comprehensive health benefits, • Wellness Program, • Paid Time Off, • Paid Holidays, • Employee Assistance Program, • Retirement Savings Plan with Company Match, • Education and Tuition Assistance Program, • Employee Discounts Hourly Compensation: Starting at $43.50 (Dependent on Experience) Job Responsibilities: • Assist with the development of long and short-range plans, policies, operating procedures, and objectives., • Coordinate activities in areas of scheduling, production, maintenance, staffing, training, and other related functions., • Conduct training sessions for maintenance and operational teams to enhance their technical understanding of BHS systems and troubleshooting techniques., • Maintain close surveillance over operations through staff meetings, observation, and personal contact to assure timely production and schedules, utilization of personnel, machines, equipment, and facilities., • Motivate and challenge the technicians towards metrics that enhance and visualize their individual goals in each work area., • Act as liaison between management and technicians to keep personnel informed of matters of communications, decisions, and policies., • Promote quality work practices, insuring “Level One” corrective and preventive maintenance is performed and reported accurately., • Enforce good discipline, providing fair and consistent counseling to subordinates., • Administer and enforce policies, procedures, and rules for personal safety, conduct, uniform appearance, and housekeeping., • Support sub-contractors (if any) that aid in the operational requirements of our customer, ensuring the sub-contractor is following set policies and procedures., • Have a working knowledge of safe work principles and habits; champion a culture of zero recordable incidents., • Supervise and coordinate various programs essential to the operation procedures such as training, safety, housekeeping, and cost reduction., • Maintain staffing requirements and assist with the interviewing process both internal and external., • Safety and compliance training as required., • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)., • Two (2) years of experience in a leadership role, with at least two (2) years of experience with BHS, • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience in training and supporting technical teams., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, and Power-Point., • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English., • Must be able to exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills., • Must be able to exhibit excellent organizational skills., • Must be able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines., • Must be detail-oriented and exhibit strong interpersonal skills., • Must be customer service oriented., • Must be able to handle a dynamic work environment within defined deadlines., • Must be able to organize and prioritize work with consistent follow-through., • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well on an independent basis, or on many different teams on simultaneous projects., • Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays and weekends, covering a 24/7 operational schedule., • Must exhibit an exemplary work ethic (integrity, sense of responsibility, emphasis on quality, discipline, sense of teamwork, reliability, appearance, character, attendance, etc.), • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl., • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Additional Requirements: The employee must be able to successfully pass a drug screening, a drivers’ license check and validation, a ten (10) year Criminal History Records Check (CHRC), federal fingerprinting and security threat assessment as well as airport security badging. Continued employment is subject to all the above requirements on an ongoing basis, failure of passing any of the above requirements may result in immediate termination.
