Job Description Experienced Lawn Care Technician / Route Manager Epic Horticultural, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Lawn Care Technician / Route Manager to join our team in Orlando. This is not an entry-level spray technician position. We are looking for an experienced lawn care professional who can independently manage an established route, diagnose turf problems, communicate professionally with customers, handle incoming sales opportunities, and help grow our lawn care department. The position currently services approximately 250 recurring lawn care customers per month, with substantial room for growth. This role also includes handling incoming lawn care sales calls, responding to customer service requests, and identifying opportunities for additional Epic Horticultural services. For the right person, we expect this position to develop into a management role within approximately 12 to 18 months. A Certified Pest Control Operator license is not required. Compensation Expected annual earning potential: $55,000–$85,000+, depending on experience, route production, sales performance, and overall contribution. Compensation includes: • Competitive weekly base salary, • Production-based incentives, • Commission on new lawn care sales, • Additional commission opportunities on qualifying irrigation, landscaping, drainage, and property improvement services, • Significant opportunity to increase earnings through route growth and sales performance, • Opportunity for increased compensation and responsibility as the position develops into management This is a full-time position generally structured around a 40-hour Monday thru Friday workweek. Primary Responsibilities The Lawn Care Technician / Route Manager will be responsible for: • Managing and servicing an established route of approximately 250 lawn care customers per month, • Applying fertilizers and appropriate lawn care products, • Performing weed and insect control treatments, • Identifying and treating turf fungus and lawn diseases, • Diagnosing turf problems and determining appropriate solutions, • Recognizing nutritional deficiencies and environmental stress, • Identifying problems caused by improper mowing practices, • Recognizing mechanical damage affecting turf, • Identifying irrigation issues contributing to poor lawn conditions, • Documenting property conditions, treatments, and recommendations, • Communicating directly with customers regarding lawn conditions and treatment plans, • Responding to customer questions and service concerns, • Handling incoming lawn care sales calls and inquiries, • Following up on customer service requests, • Converting qualified incoming leads into new recurring lawn care customers, • Identifying additional services that may benefit existing customers, • Helping grow and retain the lawn care customer base, • Maintaining professional, long-term customer relationships Required Lawn Care Experience Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of professional lawn care experience. Experience should include: • Fertilizer applications, • Weed control, • Insect control, • Fungus and turf disease identification, • Lawn disease treatment, • Turf problem diagnosis, • Nutritional deficiency identification, • Irrigation-related turf problems, • Mowing-related damage, • Mechanical turf damage, • Environmental stress, • General turf health evaluation We are looking for someone who can arrive at a property, evaluate the lawn, identify the likely cause of a problem, and recommend an appropriate solution. This position requires more than following a treatment schedule and applying products. The successful candidate must understand why a lawn is having a problem and what needs to be done to correct it. Customer Service & Sales This position has significant customer interaction. The Lawn Care Technician / Route Manager will serve as one of the primary points of contact for our lawn care customers and will handle incoming lawn care sales calls and service requests. We are looking for someone who is comfortable: • Speaking professionally with customers, • Answering lawn care questions, • Explaining treatment recommendations, • Resolving customer concerns, • Following up on service requests, • Building customer trust, • Closing qualified incoming sales opportunities, • Identifying additional services that would benefit the customer's property Our goal is not high-pressure selling. We want someone who can identify legitimate customer needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and build trust through knowledge, communication, and professional service. Additional Sales Opportunities Epic Horticultural is a full-service outdoor company offering much more than lawn treatment services. Our customers may also need: • Irrigation repairs, • Irrigation improvements, • Landscaping, • Landscape enhancements, • Drainage solutions, • French drain installation, • Property improvement services Because the Lawn Care Technician / Route Manager is regularly on our customers' properties and communicating directly with them, this position offers substantial additional sales opportunities. The successful candidate can earn additional income by recognizing customer needs and helping connect customers with the appropriate Epic Horticultural services. Communication Requirements Because this position involves significant customer communication, sales, and service responsibilities: • Clear and professional spoken English is required, • Strong verbal communication skills are required, • Bilingual English / Spanish communication skills are a plus, but are not required Minimum Qualifications Candidates should have: • Minimum 5 years of professional lawn care experience, • Strong turf diagnostic knowledge, • Experience applying fertilizers and lawn treatment products, • Experience with weed, insect, fungus, and disease control, • Ability to independently manage a recurring customer route, • Strong customer service skills, • Sales ability and confidence communicating with customers, • Strong problem-solving skills, • Clear and professional English communication, • Dependable work habits, • Professional appearance and attitude, • Valid driver's license, • Acceptable driving record, • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities Opportunity for Advancement This position is intended to grow into a leadership role.
