American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: Labor and Delivery, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 10/13/2025, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a hospital-based Labor & Delivery unit with 9 LDR rooms, 2 OR suites for C-sections, and 1 PACU, • Care setting includes L&D, postpartum, antepartum, and triage units, • Level 1 trauma center and Level 3 perinatal center, • Assigned to 12-hour night shifts with block scheduling available, • Required to work every 3rd weekend and alternate holidays, • Will float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed, • Common cases include high-risk pregnancies, vaginal and cesarean deliveries, cerclage placements, and care of patients on magnesium or insulin drips, • Uses Epic Stork for charting and OBIX for electronic fetal monitoring with Phillips monitors, • RNs must read their own fetal monitoring strips and titrate drips such as Pitocin, Magnesium, and Insulin, • No on-call requirement, • Daily responsibilities include caring for laboring patients, managing high-risk deliveries, circulating in the OR, and recovering post-cesarean section patients, • Team includes 24/7 charge nurse, house supervisor, PCT in triage, and multiple surgical techs per shift, • Labor hospitalist, newborn hospitalists, and NICU coverage are available in house, • Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels per drug-free campus policy, • Orientation includes three shifts on the unit and 12 non-billable hours, • Surgical scrubs are provided on the unit, • Holiday coverage required per unit policy, • Travelers within a 50-mile radius will be considered local\n \n Requirements\n, • Active IL RN license required, or proof of application in progress, • Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience preferred, • Current certifications in BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, • Proficiency in care of high-risk OB patients, including titrating and managing magnesium and insulin drips, • Ability to circulate in the OR for cesarean sections and recover patients in PACU, • Proficiency in care for infants following both vaginal and cesarean delivery, • Experience with Epic EMR, OBIX electronic fetal monitoring, and Phillips monitors required, • Ability to float to postpartum and antepartum units and care for varying patient assignments\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
