This is a hands-on role sitting close to the assets and operations, working closely with ownership, property management, lenders, and external advisors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Ideal for a Property Accountant with a few years of experience looking for a more involved, visible role within a stable real estate business or someone currently living on Long Island working in the City and wanting to shorten their commute. Key Responsibilities • Prepare monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations, • Post accruals, journal entries, and maintain daily cash reporting, • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for partners and lenders, • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis, • Manage tenant billing, escalations, and true-ups (TICAM), • Track property expenses, R&M spend, and construction job costs, • Support year-end audit and tax processes with external advisors, • Review AP/AR activity across the portfolio, • Maintain schedules including depreciation and amortisation, • Assist with ad hoc reporting and ownership requests Candidate Profile • 3+ years’ property accounting or commercial real estate accounting experience, • Yardi Voyager experience preferred, • Strong Excel and organisational skills, • Detail-oriented and reliable with strong communication skills, • Able to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment, • Looking for a stable long-term move within commercial real estate Next Steps For confidential consideration, contact Kenton @ HireIQ.
