Job Description Feintool Tennessee, Inc. is a precision metal-stamping manufacturer of automotive parts in Nashville, TN. We are seeking mechanically-inclined individuals who are interested in being trained to be Metal Stamping Press Operators. Some of what you will be doing: • Responsible for equipment operation (including coil handling and loading, first piece runs, production of parts, quality checks, documentation), • Housekeeping in and around press and straightener; keeps equipment and work area organized, free of clutter, and clean in conjunction with 5S, • Set-ups according to the set up books, • Parts and raw material quality compliant with the QC instructions in Plex, • SPC tasks as needed, • Time tracking in Plex, • Environmental Responsibilities including applying the 5S principles (sort, straighten, shine, sustain, and standardize), • Handle paper work needed for production runs, • Responsible for following company safety rules including wearing of the required PPE and exercising safe work behavior, • Use the Company’s quality control procedures of non-conforming product to prevent defective product from reaching our customers, • Oversees and monitors work of associated parts catchers, • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor, • High School Diploma or GED, • Ability to communicate effectively with working associates across departments, • An acceptable attendance & background record, • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, • $1.00 Shift premium for 2nd shift and $1.50 Shift premium for 3rd shift, • Monthly Bonus, • Medical with FSA, • Dental, • Vision, • Free basic life, STD, LTD, • Employee Assistance Program, • 2 weeks vacation, • 10 paid holidays, • Paid personal days, • 401k with 100% match on first 3% and 50% match on next 1%, • $100 reimbursement on safety glasses and shoes, • Free uniforms after 90 days, • $1,000 employee referral bonus, • Annual Holiday party, • Anniversary awards including free watch, monetary bonus, 1 week more vacation etc. EOE, Including Disability/Vets Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour Benefits: • 401(k), • 401(k) matching, • Dental insurance, • Employee assistance program, • Flexible spending account, • Health insurance, • Life insurance, • Paid time off, • Tuition reimbursement, • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift, • Monday to Friday, • Night shift, • Overtime, • Weekends as needed Supplemental Pay: • Overnight Shift - $1.50/hr shift premium, • Night Shift - $1.00/hr shift premium, • Day Shift Work Location: In person Company DescriptionFeintool is an international technology and market leader in the fields of fineblanking, forming, and e-sheet metal stamping for the processing of steel sheets. Job description · Analyzes specifications, sets up and operates machine tools, fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages in respect to standard metalworking and die design practices. · Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. · Responsibilities include initiating recommendations involving continuous improvements if measures to improve methods, equipment/ tooling performance, and quality of work. · Confers with assigned tool & die lead-person responsible for their workmanship or shift supervisor, to coordinate activities and advises any change in completion status of assigned work. · Responsible for the accuracy and completion of all-time and work records. · Responsible on assigned jobs in regards to proper maintenance workmanship and completion required in meeting the production schedule. · Has the authority to place any product on “Hold” if poor quality is suspected. · Responsible for all assigned organizational and housekeeping activities required to maintain a clean, safe, organized, and efficient operating tool-room environment related to their shift. · Develops specifications from general descriptions, and standard design practices in the generation of replacement die components. · Other duties may be assigned. HIRING PREREQUISITES · One-year certificate from technical school; or two years related experience; or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the Tool & Die field. · Language skills to include the ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals. · Reasoning skills to include the ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. · Mathematical skills to include the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. · Ability to successfully complete assigned jobs/ tasks in a timely manner and/or by a required completion date, and evaluated in respect to knowledge, initiative, dedication, attitude, quantity, quality, versatility, cooperation, dependability, leadership, safety, tardiness, housekeeping, organization, and attendance. Once hired, will go through the online PMA program. Will get a $1.00 raise every 6 months during apprenticeship.
