American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in San Bernadino, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Work in a 22-bed ICU within an acute care hospital setting, • Average daily census is approximately 8 patients with a 2:1 patient-to-nurse ratio, • Patient population includes sepsis, chest pain, GI bleeds, TIAs, strokes, and general med-surg ICU cases, • Nurses are responsible for reading and interpreting cardiac monitor strips using GE monitors in patient rooms, • Must manage drips including amiodarone, cardizem, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, cardiac and hypertensive drips, and propofol, • Ventilator management required using Hamilton G5 and Puritan Bennett 840 ventilators, • Cerner PowerChart is the EMR used; experience preferred, • 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend required, • Frequent floating to telemetry unit with a 4:1 ratio; opportunity to float to ED if desired, • Participates in holiday rotation with permanent staff, • Charge nurse is available on unit but does not typically take patient assignments except in emergencies, • Nurses are first to float when census is low and may work on telemetry unit or, if desired, in the ED, • Floor-specific orientation of 1-2 shifts provided before starting regular assignment, • Unit is considered traveler friendly and supports detail-oriented nurses, • Navy scrubs are required on this unit, • Holiday shifts are assigned in rotation with permanent staff, • No nurse aides on unit; nurses handle all bedside care responsibilities, • Hospitalist or intensivist onsite 24/7 and respiratory therapy available at all times, • Returning employees not eligible if employed in any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the last year except PRN through outside firms\n \n Requirements\n, • Active RN license (state or compact) required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience required, • Current certifications in BLS and ACLS required, • COVID vaccine required, • Travel experience preferred, • Must provide two professional references: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months and one from a supervisor or peer within the past 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility, • Copy of driver’s license required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
