Summary: Accepting and dispensing money and providing personal service and information to motorists. Lost or confused motorists rely on the guidance of toll collectors, who should maintain a considerate and helpful attitude. Relationships: • Incumbent works directly for the Toll Supervisor., • Interacts with other Toll Road personnel and our customers to explain or interpret what is required in order to render service, carry out policies and maintain coordination. Responsibilities: • Performs all tasks safely, complies with all internal and external safety requirements, supports ITRCC’s safety culture, attends all safety training, and completes all compliance trainings as required by ITRCC., • Upholds ITRCC’s core values: Community, Actions, Reliability, Excellence and Safety (CARES)., • Customer Service (Operating Toll Booth, Internal/External Patron Interactions, Providing Directions, etc), • Collects proper tolls and makes accurate change to customers., • Reports to authorities all tolls collected with complete and accurate input of transactions into the POS system., • Training and Development Maintenance (LMS and Safety Training, JHA Reviews, Quarterly Training, etc.)., • Gate Replacements., • Prepares various daily reports and forms such as bank deposit slip, money bag report, etc., • Responsible for performing daily cleaning of working areas inside tollbooths and plazas., • All other duties as assigned. Qualifications: (required) • High school diploma/ GED, • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, • Positive outgoing personality with the ability to remain courteous with the public and fellow employees, • Ability to effectively respond and make expedient decisions in emergency situations, • Ability to follow money handling procedures, • General knowledge of the roads surrounding the area in order to give accurate directions to motorists when requested, • Ability to complete various forms and reports with completeness and accuracy, • Ability to make change rapidly and accurately, • General computer skills Desirable experience: • 1-2 years customer service and/or cash handling experience, • Possession of a valid driver’s license is preferred, but not a condition of employment Working Conditions: • This position requires: (Frequent est. 5 hrs per shift) Heavy standing, walking and sitting Heavy talking and hearing Medium physical effort Medium computer usage Travel time required may be up to 5% * Seasonal Toll Collectors hired for the 2025 Notre Dame Football Games, will be scheduled anywhere from SBW-Elkhart Toll Plazas for their training and/or during all 2025 Notre Dame Football Home Games. * Minimum Requirement to receive the Performance Based Bonus will be to work the mandatory Friday, Saturday, and for all 2025 Notre Dame Football Home Games and maintaining proper Cash Control Obligations for assigned funds. For the 2025 Football Season, Notre Dame has a total of 7 Home Games or 7 Weekends that Notre Dame Seasonal Toll Collectors will be minimally responsible for in order to fulfill the Seasonal Contract Obligations. For the 2025 Notre Dame Football Season, there will be 3 Home Games with a kickoff time of 7:30p.m. (EST) (09/13, 10/18, 11/08), for these games, the 7a/3p shift will be automatically adjusted to 10a/6p and the 3p/11p shift will be adjusted automatically to 5p/1a. * 2025 Notre Dame Seasonal Toll Collectors may work additional hours outside of the minimum requirement with the understanding that the additional lane hours will be subject to scheduling at any plaza located SBW-Elkhart. * List of 2025 Notre Dame Football Home Games 09/13 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors required to work 09/12, 09/13, & 09/14 09/20 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors required to work 09/19, 09/20, 09/21 10/04 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors required to work 10/03, 10/04, 10/05 10/11 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors are required to work 10/10, 10/11, 10/12 10/18 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors are required to work 10/17, 10/18, 10/19 11/08 - Notre Dame Toll Collectors are required to work 11/07, 11/08, 11/09 11/22* - Notre Dame Toll Collectors are required to work 11/21, 11/22, 11/23 *Last Scheduled working date for the 2025 Notre Dame Football Season will be 11/23 Seasonal Toll Collectors hired for the 2025 Notre Dame Football Games, will be scheduled anywhere from SBW-Elkhart Toll Plazas for their training and/or during all 2025 Notre Dame Football Home Games.
