Central Recruitment is currently working with a London-based charity dedicated to preventing homelessness and supporting individuals in rebuilding their lives.\n\nOur client is currently recruiting for two Floating Support Workers to work in the Westminster area at a service that provides flexible housing-related support, to enable clients to continue to live independently within their own home, regardless of tenure type.\n\n * 37.5 hours per week\n\n * Monday - Friday\n\n * Shifts: Between 08:00 - 18:00, core working hours are 10:00 - 16:00\n\n * Temporary: approx. 3 months\n\n * £16.69 per hour (£14.89 per hour, with £1.80 holiday pay)\n\nPlease note: you will be required to work from the office in Vauxhall and complete 3 days per week hybrid working and supporting clients within the community and their own homes. This role involves lone working. Travel expenses can be claimed for this role.\n\nKey requirements:\n\n * Manage a caseload of up to 27 clients, delivering regular key work sessions resulting in support plans\n\n * Complete detailed risk assessments and management plans\n\n * Provide housing advice, including tenancy support, rights/responsibilities, and advocacy\n\n * Support clients to develop independent living skills (e.g. budgeting, bills, household management)\n\n * Assist clients moving from temporary to permanent housing, including property bidding, viewings, and relocation\n\n * Liaise with local housing authorities, landlords, and partner agencies\n\n * Identify, report, and follow up safeguarding concerns to minimise risk\n\n * Work collaboratively with internal/external services to maximise support, resources, and funding\n\n * Encourage engagement in community activities and deliver groups based on client needs\n\n * Support clients into employment, education, or training opportunities\n\n * Contribute to office duties, including rota and drop-in services\n\n * Maintain accurate and compliant client records\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\n * Experience in floating support\n\n * Experience and/or understanding of supporting complex needs (e.g. substance use, mental and physical ill health, dual diagnosis, challenging behaviour, risk of homelessness, offending, antisocial behaviour, social isolation, domestic violence, gang-related issues, young parents, leaving care and learning disabilities)\n\n * Ability to support clients with budgeting, benefits, rent arrears, and housing options\n\n * Experience delivering client-centred support to vulnerable individuals with high needs and risk\n\n * Skilled in needs assessment, risk management, and delivering effective action plans\n\n * Ability to liaise effectively with multiple agencies to enhance client support\n\n * Strong understanding of safeguarding and conducting comprehensive risk assessments\n\n * Ability to work within a strengths-based, recovery-focused approach to promote independence\n\n * Good IT skills\n\nFurther requirements:\n\nIn order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:\n\n * Current valid right to work in the UK\n\n Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)\n\n * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)\n\n * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process\n\nHow to apply:\n\nIf you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration.\n\n*Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
