Job Title: Semi-Senior Accountant Location: Harrow, London Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Reports to: Manager / Senior Manager About the Role A growing and dynamic accountancy firm based in Harrow is seeking a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join its team. The firm provides a full range of services including accounting, audit, tax and advisory to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from individuals to international businesses. This role is ideal for someone with UK practice experience who is either part-qualified or newly qualified and is looking to take the next step in their accounting career in a supportive and professional environment. Key Responsibilities • Preparation of year-end financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders, • Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600 returns, • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, • Assisting on statutory audits, including planning and fieldwork, • Managing a varied portfolio of clients under supervision, • Liaising with HMRC on client matters, • Communicating directly with clients to gather and clarify information, • Supporting senior staff on ad hoc assignments and consultancy work, • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget, • Minimum 2-3 years of UK accountancy practice experience, • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or newly qualified, • Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations, • Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, • Excellent written and verbal communication, • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines, • Exposure to audit assignments, • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems, • Competitive salary (dependent on experience and qualifications), • Full study support package, if applicable, • Ongoing CPD and internal training opportunities, • Flexible working hours and hybrid options after probation, • Clear progression opportunities within the firm, • Inclusive and friendly team culture, • Regular social events and team-building activities
