Associate Director – AI Systems Architect Employment type: Permanent Location: London/Kubrick HQ (QVS). Client engagements predominantly London & Southeast. The team: Kubrick Advanced is the fast-growing solutions delivery arm of Kubrick, driving data and AI innovation for a wide range of clients and industries. As part of a dynamic and collaborative team, you’ll lead and support technical delivery while gaining exposure to both commercial and technical challenges. With a strong focus on learning, development, and collaboration, senior team members also play a key role in shaping our technology partnerships and evolving service offerings. The Role: Joining our Core Engineering Practice, to drive the development of cutting-edge AI systems. In a newly created role, you'll act as the technical authority in this emerging space, you’ll shape internal IP, influence commercial applications, and help position Kubrick as a thought leader in agentic systems. You’ll work closely with the Platform Engineering Capability Lead to establish this area as a core capability, support junior team members, and play a key role in solution design and pre-sales efforts. This role also involves collaborating with major technology partners (e.g., Microsoft, Databricks) to build credibility and deliver impactful, future-facing AI solutions. Technical Leadership • Lead the design and deployment of scalable, secure, and ethical AI/agentic systems, • Set best practices for AI architecture and technical reviews, • Oversee system integration with enterprise infrastructure and APIs, • Translate complex AI concepts into practical, actionable insights, • act as a thought leader by publishing (e.g.) blogs, articles and whitepapers, and representing Kubrick at conferences, webinars, and industry events., • Enhance Kubrick’s presence and credibility in the AI space, • Stay ahead of trends in LLMs, AutoGPT, LangChain, CrewAI, and more, • Drive experimentation in reinforcement learning, simulations, and emergent behaviours, • Evaluate and prototype new tools and frameworks, • Develop and deliver training content for junior consultants and mentor internal teams in AI and agentic system design, • Define and enforce AI development standards aligned with ethical and regulatory frameworks, • Ensure model interpretability, bias mitigation, and responsible deployment, • Co-develop governance frameworks for autonomous decision-making We are looking for: • Experience supporting pre-sales activities in a consultancy or product-led environment, • Strong understanding of AI/ML techniques, such as reinforcement learning, planning algorithms, LLM-based agents, and simulation environments, • Proven experience in designing and developing agentic systems for production environments, including autonomous agents, multi-agent coordination, and decision- making frameworks, • Detailed knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle & best practices, • Familiarity with agentic platforms and frameworks (e.g. LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, or custom orchestration stacks), • Systems Thinking: Ability to architect complex, distributed systems that integrate AI components with enterprise data platforms and APIs, ensuring compliance with scalability, reliability, security, cost and ethical AI design considerations, • Ability to code in Python and utilise Infrastructure as Code to deploy cloud- based infrastructure, • Proven experience developing and deploying MS Copilot Agents as part of the delivery of business-facing solutions, • (Desirable) Degree, Masters or Doctorate in Software Engineering, Computer Science or ML/AI related subject What Kubrick offers: A fast moving and fast growth business which is doing something seriously innovative and valuable.
