Teaching & Learning Coach – High Needs (FE) Location: Epsom, Surrey Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £32,542 – £45,185 per annum Additional: Up to £6,000 one-off government retention payment may be available (subject to eligibility and terms) Overview Our client, a high-performing further education provider, is seeking a Teaching & Learning Coach – High Needs to support and enhance inclusive teaching practice across the organisation. This role is focused on improving outcomes for learners with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and High Needs by coaching, mentoring, and developing teaching staff. The position is ideal for an outstanding practitioner with a strong background in inclusive education, staff development, and teaching, learning and assessment (TLA) innovation. Responsibilities • Model exemplary, inclusive teaching practice that improves outcomes for EHCP and High Needs learners., • Inspire and support colleagues to adopt effective, inclusive strategies through coaching and mentoring., • Deliver formal and informal one-to-one coaching, including participation in intensive support processes., • Mentor newly appointed teachers and staff new to the organisation., • Design and deliver high-quality CPD sessions during central development days and regular TLA cycles., • Promote creative, innovative, and technology-enhanced approaches to teaching and learning., • Contribute to teaching and learning audits, quality cycles, and continuous improvement activities., • Develop, curate, and maintain a central bank of teaching and learning resources., • Maintain accurate records of monitoring, coaching, and tracking activity., • Build strong working relationships with curriculum teams to provide tailored support and share best practice. Essential • Proven track record of outstanding teaching, supported by consistently strong observation outcomes., • Significant experience supporting learners with EHCPs and High Needs., • Deep understanding of inclusive practice and strategies to improve learner engagement and achievement., • Experience coaching, mentoring, and supporting colleagues’ professional development., • Ability to design and deliver effective CPD., • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others., • Experience contributing to quality assurance or teaching and learning improvement frameworks., • Discounted access to on-site gym, sports facilities, fitness classes, café facilities, osteopathy, and on-site nursery., • Free on-site parking., • Convenient location within a short walk of a mainline train station., • Access to free online qualifications and professional development.
