Role Purpose The SCADA Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance and operational support of Aurora Utilities’ Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems across the Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO) estate. About the Role To help us achieve our expansion ambitions we are looking for an Installation Operative to hit the ground running within our growing team. If you have experience within civil engineering, the construction industry or have an armed forces background, and are looking for a career in a reputable business with fantastic progression paths, then this is the role for you! You will be based out of our London branch, but you will predominately work out on our customer sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water, with the occasional visits into branch. Tasks & Responsibilities: * You will promote and exercise the company’s mission statement and core values to deliver a high-quality installation service across the UK. * Your role will be to install pipework and assist our drivers with loading and unloading of our vehicles as well as checking against paperwork, missing items, damages, and fuel charges. * As this is a physically demanding role a good level of fitness is required. * Identify and recommend creative solutions and processes to make our business more unique and attractive and to become more efficient. * Put safety first every time, demonstrate the confidence, knowledge, and experience to stop the installation and advise your supervisor if any safety issues arise at any time. This role requires a safety critical medical Qualifications & Personal Attributes: * Must have the aptitude to work on client sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water. * Flexible working hours and be available to be part of an ‘on call’ rota . * Must be willing to travel to jobs throughout the UK and on occasions work away from home. * Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points). Preferred (but not essential): * Holder of a construction skills CSCS card. * National Water Hygiene Card. * Confined space trained. * Forklift truck operator certification. * An understanding of the workings of a temporary / permanent pumping solution. Interpret plant operations and manage processes using general plant knowledge and data from the DCS. Perform plant system startups and shutdowns, and actively participate in emergency shutdown procedures. Identify and promptly report any plant defects, abnormalities, or observations that could impact process safety or deviate from normal operations. Execute routine plant duties to maintain commercial performance, reliability, and availability. Carry out assigned safety responsibilities, including implementing safe systems of work, authorizing personnel to work, and maintaining housekeeping standards. Support the Operations Supervisor and other designated personnel in projects and outage preparations. Oversee raw material offloading (road tanker fuel, oil, and Urea), ensuring proper storage, sampling, documentation, and compliance with Ofgem regulations. Complete necessary training to develop and maintain competence, including HV authorization under safe systems of work requirements. Maintain and develop documentation, records, and procedures in line with business and statutory requirements. Provide operational guidance and advice to other Operations team members. Minimum Skills and Requirements: NVQ L3 or time served apprenticeship in an engineering or process discipline. Previous experience contributing to a continuous process/production/operational environment. First line maintenance experience. Able to follow procedures, systems & processes. Experience supporting planning & outage management. Fault finding, route cause analysis, problem solving, data monitoring. Able to make practical recommendations to continually improve operations.
