Assistant Catering Manager - Secondary School Location: WirralContract: Term Time OnlyHours: Full Time (Monday-Friday)Salary: £15.50-£18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)Start Date: September 2026 Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to join the catering team at a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with catering and supervisory experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality food services within an educational environment. The successful candidate will support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the school's catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, and compliance with food safety regulations. Main Purpose of the Role: To support the Catering Manager in the effective management of the school's catering service, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and customer service. Key Requirements: • Previous experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment, • Experience supervising or leading a team, • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable), • Strong organisational and communication skills, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, • Understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations, • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Key Responsibilities: • Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and dining facilities, • Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery, • Supervise catering staff and allocate duties as required, • Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service, • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control, • Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and hygiene, • Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures, • Assist with training and supporting catering team members, • Promote a positive dining experience for students, staff, and visitors What We're Looking For: • A positive and proactive approach to work, • Strong leadership and team-working skills, • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability, • A passion for providing high-quality food and service, • Reliable, professional, and adaptable, • Previous experience in a supervisory catering role is highly desirable Apply Now: To express interest or request further information, please click 'apply now' or send your CV and a brief cover letter to
