We have an exciting opportunity for a Corporate Risk Lead to join the Audit, Risk and Compliance team at Yorkshire Water. The Audit, Risk and Compliance function is a key part of how we plan help the business do the right thing, for our customers and the environment. In this role, youll influence senior stakeholders, improve processes, and make a real impact across the business. Where you fit in: As our Corporate Risk Lead you will: Maintain and enhance enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, and standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal requirements. Oversee the quality and timely upkeep of the corporate risk register, supporting and influencing risk owners and champions across the organisation. Produce risk reports, dashboards, and insights for leadership and governance groups. Monitor and report on risk appetite alignment and Key Risk Indicator (KRI) trends. Lead effective use of GRC systems, promoting simplification and automation of risk processes. Facilitate risk identification through workshops, interviews, surveys, and tools to ensure accurate assessment of corporate risks. Apply and support technical risk methodologies to ensure robust and consistent risk assessments and mitigation plans. Ensure timely identification and escalation of emerging risks. Support development of risk treatment strategies aligned with risk appetite and track mitigation actions to ensure accountability. Lead incident-related root cause analysis and lessons-learned exercises, producing meaningful recommendations. Work collaboratively with audit, risk, compliance, and other teams (e.g., Technology GRC, Commercial Risk) to support enterprise-wide risk alignment. Represent the organisation in risk committees, forums, and cross functional groups. Support the wider risk community with training, insight, and feedback. Share expertise and contribute to the development of colleagues within the audit, risk, and compliance team. What skills & qualifications you will need: A solid understanding of risk management frameworks, standards, and tools, with experience in effective risk identification, assessment, and evaluation. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, able to balance detail with the bigger picture and prioritise effectively. Excellent communication and facilitation skills, adapting style for different audiences. Confident using data and reporting tools to transform information into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands and consistently deliver high quality work. Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to build strong relationships internally and externally and influence stakeholders including at leadership level.
