Business Architect // Enterprise Architect // Housing Management System // £550-700/day (OUTSIDE IR25) // initial 3-6 months We are supporting a large UK housing organisation undertaking a critical review of its Housing Management Systems (HMS) landscape. An experienced Business Architect is required to provide strategic insight, options analysis, and clear recommendations to inform future HMS investment and delivery decisions. This role sits at the intersection of housing operations, technology, and strategic change. You will work closely with housing leadership, IT, and operational teams to assess current systems, evaluate future options, and shape a pragmatic, business-led roadmap. Key Responsibilities Housing Management System (HMS) Expertise • Bring deep, hands-on experience of housing management systems covering tenancy, rents, repairs, assets, and compliance, • Analyse end-to-end housing processes underpinned by HMS platforms, • Review system configuration, customisation, and data quality, • Review existing HMS architecture and surrounding application landscape, • Analyse integrations with finance, CRM, mobile solutions, and BI platforms, • Identify duplication, manual workarounds, and legacy system constraints, • Evaluate existing internal systems and modules for reuse or consolidation, • Compare market-available HMS solutions against business needs and sector best practice, • Apply strong understanding of SaaS-based HMS platforms, data models, and integration patterns, • Produce clear, compelling business cases for HMS-related investment, • Develop options analysis (retain, enhance, or replace existing platforms), • Quantify financial savings, service improvements, and risk reduction, • Work confidently with housing executives, IT leaders, and service heads, • Translate complex HMS and technical concepts into clear business impacts, • Facilitate HMS discovery and assessment workshops with operational teams, • Demonstrate understanding of HMS data migration, transition risks, and cutover approaches, • Recognise user adoption, training, and organisational change impacts, • Proven experience as a Business Architect or senior housing systems specialist, • Strong background in housing management systems within a social housing or local authority environment, • Comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed levels
