Role Description As a Quantity Surveyor at DMC Contracts Ltd, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control for construction projects. Your day-to-day tasks will include preparing bills of quantities, analysing project costs, managing contracts, and liaising with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders. You will also ensure compliance with quality standards, health, safety, and environmental regulations. This is a full-time on-site role based in Tilbury. The tasks to be carried out will be of a mixture of supporting nature and independently leading, and will be carried out periodically, but will require working to regular deadlines: • Input in to Cost / Value reconciliations., • Bottom Up and End Life Cost Reporting., • Prepare and agree interim valuations / final valuations / final accounts / sub-contract final accounts, • Prepare and issue certification / payment of sub-contractors, • Contractual administration including early warning and compensation event process., • Dispute management., • Cost Monitoring & Reporting, • To ensure effective integration and collaboration with project management teams., • Regular site visits to ensure that site records are maintained and that all risks and opportunities are identified and managed, • Commercial relationships with subcontractors balancing the delivery of quality services with achieving best value for the business, • Drafting & issuance of subcontract scope and packages., • Drafting and submitting Applications for Payment to Client, • Regular engagement with Client team. To have an awareness and understanding of the importance of the following Technical Competencies required including: • Understanding & working knowledge of the NEC form of Contract, • Pre-contract controls – understanding scope and method for evaluation., • Contract administration including data reporting and record keeping., • Commercial Management - understanding the impact of change and contractual redress – main contract and subcontract., • Project Controls – how cost is captured, controlled, reported and measured against on the project., • Insurance, bonds and warranties – obligations and use., • Understanding & interpreting planning and programming techniques and processes., • Industry technologies and techniques including CDM, SHE standards, Quality Assurance Qualifications • Experience in cost estimating, cost analysis, and preparing bills of quantities, • Proficiency in contract management, tendering, and procurement processes, • Familiarity with construction project planning, scheduling, and financial forecasting, • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills to liaise with clients and stakeholders, • Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the construction industry, • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field, • Prior experience in construction or a related sector is advantageous Please note that this job description does not represent a comprehensive list of activities and employees may be requested to undertake other reasonable duties.
