You will be working 37.5 hours a week (Monday - Friday) -(8am - 4pm) or (9am - 5pm) Cygnet Hospital Harrowprovides a recovery focused service treating a wide range of mental health problems. We also offer specialist diagnostic, assessment and inpatient services for individuals with mental health needs and who also have a dual diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Our acute in-patient psychiatric services offer assessment, diagnosis and treatment for individuals with a wide range of psychological and emotional problems, including those who are detained under the Mental Health Act. Working within a mental health setting requires a calm, respectful, and professional approach at all times. You will be expected to work sensitively around patients, maintaining confidentiality and contributing to a supportive environment. Your Day-to-Day... * Carry out general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical repairs, carpentry, and painting * Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment toidentify and resolve issues promptly * Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner * Ensure all work is completed in line with health and safety regulations * Support the maintenance team with planned preventative maintenance schedules * Assist with moving and setting up equipment, furniture, and rooms as required * Maintain accurate records of completed work and report any major repair needs * Ensure a safe environment, particularly considering the needs of vulnerable patients * Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards * Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights You are... * Experienced in a similar role, or have previous experience in a maintenance, facilities, or handyman role * Basic knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrics, general repairs) * Able to communicate at all levels & record detailed, accurate maintenance information * Skilled at DIY & general maintenance * Friendly, conscientious & an excellent team member with a positive attitude. * Car Driver (advantageous) Why Cygnet? We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to investigate the mechanisms driving cytotoxic T cell dysfunction during viral oncogenesis, focusing on a malignancy caused by Human T cell leukaemia virus type 1 (HTLV-1). The role, which is funded by the MRC, will combine deep immunophenotyping, functional T cell assays and singlecell technologies to understand why a subset of HTLV1 carriers progress to Adult T cell leukaemia/lymphoma (ATL), while others remain protected. What you would be doing You will work on a translational immunology project studying clinical samples from HTLV1 carriers and patients at risk of malignant transformation. You will: • Characterise antiviral CD8 and CD4 T cell responses in chronic HTLV1 infection and premalignancy., • Perform functional immune assays, including ex vivo killing assays, ELISpot and activationinduced marker assays., • Design and execute highparameter flow cytometry and immune phenotyping experiments to study immune ageing, exhaustion and activation states., • Conduct singlecell RNAseq and TCR sequencing projects by preparing samples, analysing data, interpreting immunological outputs and validating findings experimentally., • Analyse and interpret complex immunological datasets and contribute to manuscripts, reports and conference presentations.
