HR Generalist – Payroll Support - Office based Salary: £competitive DOE Holidays: 24 days per annum plus bank holidays increasing with service Hours: 37.5 hours per week Benefits: Private Health care provided - CIPD training/support available for the right candidate Overview We are currently seeking an HR Generalist – Payroll Support to join our growing team. The successful candidate will support the HR function across employee administration, onboarding, employee relations, and payroll preparation activities. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely collection, verification, and submission of payroll-related information, while payroll processing itself is completed by an external provider. Key Responsibilities • Support the Head of HR with day to day HR operations and administration., • Assist with employee relations matters including investigations, disciplinary processes, grievance meetings, and absence management procedures., • Prepare documentation relating to investigations, disciplinary hearings, probation reviews, and performance management processes., • Support and coordinate employee appraisal and performance review processes across the business., • Draft employment contracts, offer letters, amendments, and general HR correspondence., • Maintain accurate employee records, HR databases, and personnel files in line with GDPR requirements., • Support onboarding and offboarding processes including inductions, right to work checks, and exit procedures., • Monitor attendance, holiday, sickness, and absence records., • Collect, prepare, and verify payroll-related information including overtime, timesheets, bonuses, salary changes, and deductions., • Ensure payroll data is accurate and submitted to the payroll provider/team within required deadlines., • Respond to employee HR and payroll-related queries in a professional and timely manner., • Assist with recruitment activities including advertising roles, arranging interviews, and communicating with candidates., • Support training and development activities, maintaining training records and coordinating learning requirements., • Help ensure HR policies, procedures, and company documentation remain up to date and compliant with employment legislation., • Produce HR reports, trackers, and management information as required., • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information. Essential / Desirable Requirements • Previous experience in an HR Administrator or HR Generalist role - Essential., • Experience supporting payroll preparation or payroll administration - desirable., • Good understanding of payroll processes and employment legislation - desirable., • Strong attention to detail and accuracy., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Strong organisational and time management abilities., • Ability to handle confidential information professionally., • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel., • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team., • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD - desirable How to Apply If you believe you meet the requirements for this role, please send your application to ahunter@wesgroup.uk.
