Watch the video below to meet some of our team and come and discover a career in your hands at HMRC.\n \nBuild a Career in Property with HMRC Estates\n Job description \n \nAs the Estates Workplace Apprentice / Officer you will be part of the onsite Regional Estates Team with responsibility for the smooth running of the Regions Government Hub and its Regional Offices and Specialist Sites. You will be a key figure in responding to customer queries about the buildings, whether that be escalating building faults, reporting Health and Safety issues or supporting our building users to make the most of the Government Hub and it‘s spaces. \n \nYou will provide a high level of customer service by building strong relationships with our customers (building users) and monitoring building issues, escalating where necessary. As your knowledge of the building grows, you will influence customer experience with your knowledge, skills and behaviours.\n \nYou will be highly visible to our customers (building users), carrying out regular building inspections, liaising with customers and effectively communicating and resolving their queries. The post holder will need to deliver in all aspects of this key role, including; \n \n\n • Managing the Regional Estates Team communication platforms, including their Mailbox, Viva Engage, and face to face.\n, • Reviewing and updating the buildings A-Z and Building Directory to ensure these are maintained with accurate building information.\n, • Carrying out inspections across our buildings to assure standards are maintained and support H&S building inspections.\n, • Carry out building inductions for new starters to the Government Hub.\n, • Act as secretariat for the Regions Building House Committees, Health and Safety Committees and Team Meetings.\n, • Procurement of stationery, health and safety stock and other work-related items.\n, • Implementing and managing building policies and processes including management of locker, cycle spaces and car parking spaces.\n, • Visitor and delivery co-ordination lead for reception and security.\n, • Manage the teams SharePoint sites and standardised filing system for the team.\n, • Liaise with the Workplace Operations Gateway Team to coordinate the completion of commissions and sharing of customer communications.\n, • Support the FM team with assurance checks as required.\n, • Support the wider Workplace Operations team and carry out other tasks to contribute towards the day to day running of the Estate as directed by the Senior Building Manager or Head of Estate.\n\n Person specification \n \nProspective candidates will be expected to demonstrate;\n \n\n • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage a varied workload.\n, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, tailoring messages to suit different audiences.\n, • Ability to analyse information and interpret performance data effectively.\n, • Skilled in problem solving and issue resolution, using sound judgement and a proactive approach to identify solutions.\n, • Previous experience of working in a customer services / customer facing role or within an Estates role would be beneficial.\n\n Essential Criteria: \n \nWilling to work towards completion of Level 2 Facilities Services Operative Apprenticeship within 18 months of take up of post.\n \nOrganised - efficient and able to manage a varied workload.\n \nMust have strong communication skills and IT Skills -including Microsoft Word - Excel-. \n Desirable Criteria: \n \nIOSH Managing Safely Certificate\n Who can apply for an apprenticeship? \n \nTo start an apprenticeship, you‘ll need to be:\n \n\n • 16 or over\n, • Have the right to live and work in the UK\n, • not in full-time education\n\n \nYou can apply for an apprenticeship (opens in a new window) while you‘re still at school but you‘ll need to be 16 or over by the end of the summer holidays to start the apprenticeship.\n \nPlease note - if successful you must be 16 or over to undergo the relevant security checks.\n \nA condition of your employment is the successful completion of your apprenticeship within the expected duration of 18 months.
