Elite Personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a client for an experienced and organised Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary / Paralegal to join their Property team. \n This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a legal environment who has a good understanding of property transactions, legal documentation and associated procedures. \n The role would suit an experienced Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant or Paralegal who is confident supporting fee earners, managing files and communicating professionally with clients. \n While strong property experience is highly desirable, our client is also looking for someone with the right attitude, attention to detail and willingness to develop their knowledge further. \n Your responsibilities will include: \n Property & Legal Support \n\n • Supporting fee earners with the administration of property transactions.\n, • Opening and setting up new client files.\n, • Completing client identification checks, risk assessments and terms of engagement.\n, • Preparing and managing property-related documentation.\n, • Assisting with the drafting of basic sale contracts.\n, • Obtaining official copies from the Land Registry.\n, • Submitting and monitoring property searches.\n, • Assisting with pre- and post-completion requirements.\n, • Carrying out priority searches where required.\n, • Preparing completion statements.\n, • Assisting with SDLT returns.\n, • Preparing and submitting standard Land Registry applications, including Form AP1.\n, • Producing and amending letters, emails, forms and other legal documents.\n, • Maintaining accurate client and matter records.\n\n Document & File Management \n\n • Maintaining well-organised electronic and physical files.\n, • Preparing, amending and formatting legal documents.\n, • Using Microsoft Word Track Changes confidently when working on draft documentation.\n, • Updating case management and client databases.\n, • Ensuring records and documentation are accurate and up to date.\n, • Managing electronic filing and general administrative processes.\n\n Client & Office Support \n\n • Answering incoming telephone calls and directing them appropriately.\n, • Making calls to clients and other relevant parties.\n, • Taking accurate messages and preparing file notes.\n, • Responding to emails and managing correspondence.\n, • Arranging client appointments and interviews.\n, • Maintaining electronic diaries and coordinating appointments.\n, • Managing client expectations and providing updates where appropriate.\n, • Undertaking some digital audio transcription.\n, • Deputising for other support staff during periods of absence.\n, • Assisting with the smooth running of the wider office when required.\n\n What We're Looking For \n\n • Previous experience within a solicitor's practice or legal environment.\n, • Knowledge of property transactions and associated documentation.\n, • Experience working as a Legal Secretary, Legal Assistant, Paralegal or similar.\n, • Strong administrative and organisational skills.\n, • Excellent attention to detail.\n, • Good written and verbal communication skills.\n, • Confident telephone and client-handling abilities.\n, • Strong IT skills, particularly across Microsoft Office applications.\n, • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, including Track Changes.\n, • Experience with case management systems would be advantageous.\n, • The ability to work accurately to deadlines and established procedures.\n, • The ability to prioritise effectively when managing competing workloads.\n, • A calm and professional approach when working under pressure.\n, • A flexible attitude and willingness to support colleagues when required.\n\n The Right Person \n Our client is looking for more than just technical ability. \n You should be someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, enjoys being part of a professional team and is willing to learn and develop. \n You will need to be: \n Organised – able to keep files, deadlines, diaries and documentation under control. \n Detail-focused – confident working with legal documents where accuracy is essential. \n Proactive – able to use your initiative and identify what needs doing. \n Flexible – comfortable adapting priorities and assisting colleagues when necessary. \n Professional – confident dealing with clients and representing the firm's values. \n Team-minded – willing to support the wider team and contribute to the smooth running of the office. \n Please note: We aim to respond to successful applicants within 48 hours.
