Overview This role offers the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that support modern power systems. You will contribute to the design and delivery of protection and control solutions for high-voltage substations while collaborating with experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams. Role Summary As a Protection & Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing technical protection and control solutions for Extra High Voltage (EHV) substation projects. These include both Air Insulated Substations (AIS) and Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) operating at voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV. The role can be based in Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees, Leeds, or Manchester, with flexibility required to travel to client offices and project sites across the UK. Key Responsibilities Produce a comprehensive suite of protection and control system design drawings for systems from 11kV up to 132kV. Develop innovative protection solutions to support the evolution of future smart grid networks. Integrate protection and SCADA systems to deliver cost-effective and reliable design solutions. Prepare all necessary engineering calculations and technical documentation. Support the preparation of equipment specifications for project delivery.
