This is an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to play a key role in improving product quality and customer satisfaction within a complex manufacturing environment. You will work closely with production, engineering and supply chain teams to embed robust quality systems and drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.\n\nClient Details\n\nThe client is a well‑established manufacturer operating within the heavy electrical engineering sector, supplying technically complex equipment to demanding customers. Quality, compliance and right‑first‑time delivery are central to their culture, with ongoing investment in systems, people and processes.\n\nDescription\n\nKey responsibilities\n\nDevelop, implement and maintain in‑process quality control plans, procedures and work instructions across all key manufacturing stages\nConduct inspections, testing and internal audits to identify non‑conformities and ensure corrective actions are implemented before product release\nEnsure products meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements and ISO 9001 standards\nLead structured root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, SPC and MSA\nValidate corrective and preventive actions to ensure long‑term effectiveness and sustained improvement\nWork closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues, reduce scrap and rework, and improve process capability\nSupport the introduction and qualification of new materials, components and manufacturing processes\nAnalyse quality KPIs and data trends to drive continuous improvement initiatives\nSupport or oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (F.A.T) and maintain full product and material traceability\nMaintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records and test reports\nAssist with customer audits, third‑party inspections and certification activities\nProvide guidance and training to production teams on quality standards and best practice\nSupport supplier quality investigations and improvement activityProfile\n\nThe successful candidate\n\nHolds an Apprenticeship, HND, Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or a related technical discipline\nHas 3-5 years' experience in a Quality Engineering role within mechanical or electrical manufacturing (heavy engineering experience is highly advantageous)\nPossesses strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems\nIs proficient in problem‑solving tools such as FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA and root cause analysis techniques\nDemonstrates strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical data\nIs confident working cross‑functionally and engaging with shop‑floor teams, engineers and senior stakeholdersJob Offer\n\nWhat's on offer\n\nSalary of £40,000 - £45,000\nA permanent, full‑time position within a technically interesting and growing manufacturing environment\nThe opportunity to have genuine impact on product quality, processes and customer satisfaction\nExposure to complex engineering products and industry‑leading quality practices\nA collaborative culture with strong support from engineering and operational teams\nCompetitive salary and benefits package, with scope for long‑term development
