This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people by providing targeted behavioural, emotional, and academic support.\n\nBehaviour Mentor - Secondary School in Hounslow\nLocation: West London\nSalary: £95-£135 per day (dependent on experience)\nStart Date: September start available in West LondonThe successful candidate will work closely with students who may face barriers to learning, including those with SEMH needs, ADHD, Autism, challenging behaviour, low attendance, or social and emotional difficulties. You will play a vital role in helping students develop positive behaviours, improve engagement and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom.\n\nThis position is particularly well suited to graduates and aspiring teachers, educational psychologists, youth workers, counsellors, social workers, or experienced school support staff looking to further develop their career in education.\n\nBehaviour Mentor in Hounslow: Key Responsibilities\n\nProvide one-to-one mentoring and small-group interventions for students requiring additional behavioural and pastoral support.\nBuild positive, professional relationships that promote confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.\nSupport students in developing strategies to manage behaviour, emotions, and engagement with learning.\nWork alongside teachers, SEND staff, pastoral leaders, safeguarding teams, and external agencies to support student progress.\nMonitor and record behavioural, attendance, and wellbeing outcomes.\nSupport students both within lessons and during unstructured times throughout the school day.\nContribute to behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and intervention programmes.\nPromote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.Behaviour Mentor: Skills required\n\nExperience working with young people in a school, mentoring, youth work, coaching, care, or community setting.\nStrong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.\nThe confidence to work with students presenting challenging behaviour.\nA calm, patient, and resilient approach.\nA genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.\nExperience supporting students with SEMH, Autism, ADHD, SEND, or vulnerable learners would be highly advantageous.\nA degree or relevant qualification is desirable but not essential.Behaviour Mentor: Why Apply?\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a Behaviour Mentor seeking valuable school-based experience within a highly supportive secondary school.
