About you and the role: To deliver exceptional claims handling by efficiently, accurately, and fairly adjusting claims within delegated authority, while upholding Enstar’s Claims Philosophy and Lloyd’s Minimum Standards. This role focuses on the technical management of complex claims—leading investigations, evaluating exposures, negotiating outcomes, and adjudicating matters with precision. Through proactive collaboration and strategic decision-making, you will ensure every claim is managed to the highest standards of compliance and professionalism. What you will be doing: • Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and adjudicate claims within authority and in a manner that consistently meets or exceeds our Policies and Procedures., • Review and respond to presentations via brokers’ files, e-marketing, and on the electronic CLASS or ECF systems., • Adjust Claims presentations as required for all Syndicates and/or Group Companies., • Set appropriate and accurate case reserves in accordance with the company’s reserving philosophies., • Contract interpretation, managing cedant relationships, and legal representation., • Manage attorneys (where applicable) and negotiate and liaise with co-insurers., • Negotiate settlements as part of the market and proactively seek to identify and progress direct settlements solely for Enstar companies or extend market settlements to other Enstar companies., • Deal with referrals from Claim Adjusters for claims that exceed their authority or present complex issues., • Liaise with in-house legal department on complex claims where necessary., • Conduct inspection of records when required and negotiate equitable claim resolution., • Attend market meetings, counsels’ conferences, settlement meetings, and arbitrations as necessary., • Respond to queries raised by other areas of due diligence (M&A financial and Actuarial)., • Reporting of claim developments and account information to management., • Supporting and assisting Outwards, Commutation, and Actuarial teams as required., • Take responsibility for technical and pastoral development of direct reports., • Comply with Enstar claims handling authority levels., • Carry out duties in accordance with internal policies and procedures and applicable law, rules, regulation, good governance, and Enstar’s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business., • Act with integrity, due skill, care, and diligence., • Keep abreast of industry standards and trends by reviewing publications, attending seminars, participating in meetings, etc., • Keep up to date with Lloyd’s Market Claims initiatives and attend Market Claims forums if relevant., • Agility and flexibility to react to business requirements and priorities., • Essential to be able to work individually and within a team., • In addition to the above key responsibilities, undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require.
