Join a well‑established, highly regarded multidisciplinary CAMHS team serving the diverse communities of East Central Bristol. This exciting role offers responsibility for the assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment of children and adolescents with severe and complex mental health needs referred to East Central Bristol CAMHS. Working alongside an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership within a supportive and collaborative service. East Central Bristol CAMHS delivers a comprehensive Tier 2/3 service, providing assessment, treatment and consultation to Tier 1 services. The clinical focus is on supporting young people with the most complex and severe mental health presentations. You will be part of a skilled multidisciplinary team including Psychologists, Nurses, Family Therapists, Psychotherapists and Primary Mental Health Specialists, delivering high‑quality, integrated care to young people and their families. The service is currently implementing the i‑THRIVE model, offering an opportunity to contribute to service transformation and partnership working across health, education and social care. The post is supported by a Core Psychiatry Trainee (CT3), rotating every six months, and, where an Educational Supervisor is in post, a Higher Specialty Trainee (ST4–ST6), rotating annually. This is an excellent opportunity to help shape specialist CAMHS provision while making a lasting difference to children, young people and families. The successful candidate will provide assessment, diagnosis, management and treatment for children, young people and families with severe and complex mental health difficulties within East Central Bristol CAMHS. The postholder will hold psychiatric responsibility for patients seen by medical staff and work closely with care coordinators and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high‑quality care. The role does not routinely include care coordination, and all patients on the consultant caseload will have an allocated care coordinator. Responsibilities include undertaking new assessments, providing follow‑up reviews, offering consultation and advice to colleagues and partner agencies, and contributing to multi‑agency working. The postholder will also support urgent and unplanned clinical work as required. Follow‑up appointments will be based on clinical need and may include medication reviews, mental state monitoring and joint reviews with care coordinators. Referrals are allocated collaboratively between consultant psychiatrists according to clinical complexity, specialist interests and service demands. There will be opportunities to develop a special clinical interest aligned to local service needs. The consultant will provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, working alongside senior clinical colleagues, the Clinical Service Manager and Team Manager to support the delivery and ongoing development of high‑quality CAMHS services. As a result, we regret to inform you that we are unable to consider applications from individuals who require GMC sponsorship. • Full GMC Registration or eligibility to be included on the register and holding a current licence to practise at the time of appointment., • Eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry., • Section 12 approval/Approved Clinician Status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment., • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification., • Relevant Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications., • MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists., • Additional clinical qualifications., • Wide breadth of clinical experience working with children and young people with mental health problems and their families., • Knowledge and evidence of participation in CPD., • Evidence of effective multidisciplinary team involvement., • Evidence of effective multi‑agency working., • Specific additional therapy training (e.g. Positive Behavioural Support, CBT, systemic therapy, DBT, etc.)., • To possess leadership skills and be able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team., • Ability to manage own time, workload and prioritise clinical work., • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, in order to effectively work with patients, carers and staff., • Excellent written and oral communication skills., • Skills in psychiatric assessment, formulation and risk management (including safeguarding) as well as psychopharmacology in children, neurodevelopmental disorders and attachment difficulties., • Understanding of the management skills required to function successfully as a Consultant., • Commitment to and experience of undergraduate and postgraduate learning and teaching., • Understand principles of teaching., • Experience or involvement in a research project and publication., • Ability to supervise junior medical staff undertaking research projects., • Experience of carrying out an audit project., • Evidence of management/leadership skills training. #J-18808-Ljbffr
