The Building Services Manager role: As a key member of the project team reporting to the Project Building Services manager, you will take ownership of the commissioning management and handover of the MEP packages, ensuring systems are fully operational, compliant, and delivered to the highest standards. Your role will span from early-stage construction, and sooner if at all possible, through commissioning and final client handover. Commissioning activities will cover duties laid out in CIBSE Code M. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage the commissioning programme, ensuring all systems are tested, validated, and signed off in line with contractual obligations and project timelines., • Chair and attend regular commissioning meetings, driving progress and resolving issues promptly., • Review subcontractor commissioning plans, drawings, and technical submissions for compliance and practicality., • Coordinate ME&PH commissioning activities with other trades to avoid delays and ensure seamless integration., • Ensure installations meet quality standards and comply with legislation, codes of practice, and guides (e.g., BREEAM, CIBSE, BSRIA). Your Profile • Proven experience in commissioning management across complex projects including clean rooms., • Strong technical and design expertise in MEP services and process engineering., • Qualifications: HNC or Degree in Building Services or related discipline., • Skilled in 3D modelling and familiar with off-site manufacturing approaches., • Competent in 4projects or similar Common Data Environment. The wider Major Projects and Connections team is based out of either Farringdon, London or Leeds, West Yorkshire. Reporting into the Senior Commercial Manager, this role will support the business unit by managing the contractual and financial elements of a major project undertaken within the Major Projects & Connections business. This includes large electrical and civil works on a major project within London. In addition, the role will include all other activities to enable successful P&L, cash flow and working capital management. We are looking for someone who; • Takes ownership of their package and ensures all works are planned, safe, and the site within their package area is clean and organised., • A ‘boots on the ground' mentality to promote a culture of safety leadership and ensure all works are being carried out as planned and safely., • Plans and oversees all logistical requirements within their package, liaising the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor., • Produces short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerator works or mitigate issues to ensure on-time delivery in line with the accepted programme., • Progress monitoring and performance, planned vs. actual, metrics, and understanding trends arising, and reporting programme implications to the Project Manager and package planner., • Collaborates with other members of the infrastructure team and thinks of the ‘big picture'., • Responsible for the technical aspects and compliance of the package with the contract documents and construction issue, specifications and drawings., • Reviews and approves Inspection and Test Plans., • Conducts and records quality inspections using FieldView., • Manages technical submittals and requests for information within their package scope., • Ensures the package meets their requirements with respect to scope of works and sub-contract requirements and understands SRMs obligations., • Records key events and activities., • Promotes and encourages the SRM Build Sure culture. Your profile: • Strong Leadership skills, • Experience delivering multi-million-pound building projects., • Experienced with infrastructure and civils works., • Knowledge and experience of pumping stations, storage tanks and rising mains, deep excavations, water management, earthwork rhynes, concrete culverts and channels and siphonic drainage., • Experience with the associated civils works for all utilities – water, sprinkler mains, HV, LV and data., • Experience with NEC contracts and the management of Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events., • Good knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards, • Familiarity with construction software package – FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta are desirable.
