Supply Teacher - Flexible Teaching Opportunities in Witham Location: Witham and surrounding areas Job Type: Day-to-day supply, short-term, and long-term placements Salary: £120-£180 per day (dependent on experience, subject specialism, and assignment type) Start Date: Immediate and ongoing opportunities available About the Role We are seeking committed, adaptable, and enthusiastic Supply Teachers to work across a variety of primary and secondary schools in Witham and nearby communities. This role is ideal for experienced teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or those returning to the profession who are looking for flexibility, variety, and the opportunity to gain experience in different school settings. As a Supply Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning during staff absences. Assignments may range from pre-planned lesson delivery to more general classroom supervision, depending on the needs of the school. Key Responsibilities • Deliver high-quality lessons across a range of subjects and key stages, following school-provided plans where available, • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment in line with each school's behaviour policies, • Quickly establish rapport with students and staff in new settings, • Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND or EAL requirements, • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a productive learning environment, • Mark and assess student work where required and provide constructive feedback, • Complete handover notes for the returning teacher, outlining progress and any key issues, • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification, • Experience teaching in UK primary and/or secondary schools (placements considered for ECTs), • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, • Flexible, reliable, and able to adapt at short notice, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one), • Subject specialism (e.g. English, Maths, Science) for secondary roles, • Experience working with SEN pupils or in alternative provision settings, • Familiarity with different school MIS systems and classroom technologies, • Flexible working arrangements - choose when and where you work, • Competitive daily pay rates, with weekly pay, • Access to a wide network of local schools in and around Witham, • Opportunities for long-term placements and permanent roles, • Dedicated consultant support, including career guidance and CV advice, • Free or subsidised CPD training opportunities (e.g. safeguarding updates, behaviour management), • Achieve a better work-life balance, • Gain experience across a range of school environments, • Build your professional network, • Explore potential long-term opportunities before committing JBRP1_UKTJ
