Job summaryThis post presents a fantastic opportunity to join a multi-specialty Ophthalmic Directorate. You will work alongside an existing Group Manager to manage the overall service, having responsibility for the Ophthalmology Directorate.As well as close working with the existing Group Manager, Matron and Clinical Director to oversee the whole Directorate, you will work alongside the Matron and each of the service clinical leads to manage, develop and improve the services within your portfolio.This post offers a mix of elective and emergency care and is ideal for someone who wishes to be challenged, deliver improvement and progress their career.The right person will have experience in or a demonstrable passion for delivery and management of surgical services and have a track record of performance, transformation and clinical pathway improvement delivery.Main duties of the jobProvide business and operational management support to the Group Manager.In conjunction with the Group Manager, develop business plans for the directorateIdentify opportunities for new markets and schemes to generate additional incomeDevelop appropriate strategies for inclusion in the business plan to take full advantage of these opportunitiesIn conjunction with the Group Manager, be responsible for the formulation and implementation of the long-term strategic plans for the directorateWork closely with the Group Manager to ensure that performance monitoring within the monitoring within the directorate is robust and that contractual targets and standards are achievedWork with the corporate accountant to provide appropriate financial and activity information to the directorate, and support the Group Manager in managing the delegated budgetsWorking closely with the Group Manager, ensure that quality standards, both agreed with commissioners and dictated by national policy, are achievedEstablish local quality standards to improve patient care and directorate efficiencyIdentify and implement centralised functions across the directorate to generate cost and service efficienciesAbout usThe Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust are delighted that we have been rated as a"Good"organisation by CQC and just like you, we are ambitious about what we do.
