Conveyancing Director / Head of Office – Bristol Salary: £85,000 – £110,000 + Team Bonus Location: Bristol (New Office Launch) A high-performing, PE-backed property law firm is launching a new office in Bristol and is seeking a Conveyancing Director to lead it. This is a rare opportunity to be the face of a new office, build a team from the ground up and replicate the success already achieved in London and other locations. There is immediate volume available – the infrastructure, introducer relationships and operational support are already in place. The Opportunity The incoming Director will head up the Bristol office, building and leading a residential conveyancing team with autonomy and commercial freedom. This is more than a fee-earning role – it is a genuine leadership and growth opportunity. You will: • Lead and grow the Bristol office, • Recruit and develop your own team, • Oversee performance, compliance and service standards, • Maintain a manageable personal caseload (typically 40–50 files per month initially) The Firm This is a top-tier conveyancing business with strong profit performance and private equity backing. The group includes specialist divisions and its own legal tech capability, employing a dedicated in-house development team to continuously enhance systems and client experience. The firm operates at scale (c. 450 matters per month across offices), with an average fee of £2,500 per case, and regularly exceeds targets. London-based leadership has demonstrated the earning potential of the model, with substantial bonus payouts at Director level. There is also: • A dedicated remote support team, • Established new build capability, • Structured operational and new business support, • Investment in proprietary software layered over the core CMS, • A culture of promoting from within – many Directors progressed from junior roles Salary & Bonus • £85,000 – £110,000 basic salary, • Office-wide bonus structure (team-based), • When office targets are hit, all team members receive a percentage-based bonus aligned to seniority, • Stretch targets unlock additional shared bonuses, • Significant earning potential demonstrated across the group Working Culture & Flexibility The firm offers a genuinely flexible working model post-probation, including: • Hybrid working, • 9-day fortnight option, • Flexible team-led working patterns The Ideal Candidate • Experienced residential conveyancing leader (qualification preferred but not essential), • Strong technical grounding in freehold and leasehold transactions, • Experience supervising or managing a team, • Commercially driven and comfortable working in a volume environment, • Ambitious and motivated to build and scale a new office This is a standout opportunity for a conveyancing leader who wants more than a traditional Director title.
