Finance Assistant | Derby | Hybrid/Flexible Working | 4-Day Work Week Up to £30,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits Are you a detail-oriented Finance Assistant, Credit Controller, Accounts Payable/Receivable Assistant, or Bookkeeper who enjoys keeping financial records accurate while supporting a busy finance function? We’re looking for an organised and proactive individual to join our growing team and play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting day-to-day transactions, and contributing to a smooth and efficient finance operation. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced professional services environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering high-quality work across multiple finance tasks. The Role • Manage the accounts payable inbox and respond promptly to supplier queries, • Process purchase invoices, post transactions, and support accounts payable and receivable, • Maintain accurate financial records across the business and its subsidiary companies, • Reconcile bank statements and control accounts on a regular basis, • Support general ledger maintenance and assist with month-end processes, including journals, • Prepare and process client invoices, credit notes, and respond to client queries, • Manage supplier payments, invoice allocation, and card payments to support cash flow, • Assist with payroll-related tasks and ensure accurate processing, • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes, • Handle ad hoc financial tasks and ensure all daily and monthly duties are completed accurately and on time, • Support the processing of client tax refunds What We’re Looking For • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts, or Bookkeeping role, • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, • Experience using accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Xero or similar), • Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail, • Understanding of accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and month-end processes, • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively, • Professional, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset, • AAT qualification (or working towards) desirable Why Join Us • True 4-Day Work Week: better work-life balance with no compressed hours, • Hybrid (initially 1 day office, 3 days at home) and flexible working, • Supportive, collaborative team culture, • Opportunity to grow within a developing finance function, • Ongoing training and development If you’re a motivated Finance Assistant looking for your next opportunity in a supportive and growing business, we’d love to hear from you.
