Assistant / Trainee Manager Children's Residential Location: Leeds Starting salary: £35,000 per annum plus sleep-in payments Working pattern: Residential shift rota, including approximately 910 sleep-ins per month Take the next step towards becoming a Registered Manager Are you an experienced children's residential care professional looking to progress into management? This opportunity offers a clear development pathway towards becoming a Registered Manager, with all training and qualifications required for your development fully funded. You will work alongside the Registered Manager, gaining practical management experience while helping to create a safe, supportive and nurturing home for children and young people. The role • Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home., • Lead shifts and provide guidance and support to the staff team., • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people., • Promote safeguarding and respond appropriately to concerns., • Support care planning, risk assessments and accurate record keeping., • Help with staff supervision, development and induction., • Assist with audits, quality assurance and preparation for Ofsted inspections., • Work closely with families, social workers, education teams and other professionals., • Take on increasing management responsibilities as your skills and confidence develop., • Participate in the rota, including approximately 910 sleep-ins each month. What we're looking for • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare., • Full UK driving licence., • Previous experience working within children's residential care., • A good understanding of safeguarding and the needs of children in care., • Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills., • The confidence to support colleagues and lead by example., • A calm, consistent approach to challenging situations., • A commitment to completing further qualifications and progressing towards a Registered Manager position. Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker or Team Leader would be advantageous. Salary, development and benefits • £35,000 starting basic salary., • Sleep-ins paid in addition to your basic salary., • A clear development and progression pathway towards Registered Manager., • Fully funded training and qualifications to support your progression., • Practical leadership experience alongside the Registered Manager.
