This is a strong leadership opportunity within one of Scotlands most highly respected private client practices, supporting high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates while overseeing a skilled compliance team. Youll manage a broad portfolio, provide clear and pragmatic tax guidance, and work closely with legal and advisory specialists across the firm. Key Responsibilities • Lead the Tax Compliance Team, supervising three assistants and ensuring timely, accurate delivery of all work., • Review personal tax compliance across individuals, trusts, estates and charities, maintaining high technical standards., • Provide clear, expert advice on tax returns, liabilities, claims and elections., • Ensure all submissions to HMRC meet statutory deadlines through strong controls and efficient processes., • Work closely with senior tax leaders to manage workflow and maintain a smooth compliance operation., • Oversee capital gains tax reporting for residential property transactions., • Build strong client relationships, explaining complex issues simply and supporting clients through sensitive matters., • Manage billing processes and ensure effective use of internal systems., • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery. You will be a tax professional with strong personal tax compliance expertise, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, professional services firm or private client environment. Essential Experience • Recent tax compliance experience, ideally including trusts and estates., • Experience advising clients on tax returns and tax liabilities., • Familiarity with tax software and HMRC online systems., • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members., • Ability to build strong relationships with high-value private clients., • Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy.
