Job: Deputy Manager / Room Leader (Dual Role) Location: Bath, Somerset Contract: Full-time, Permanent – All Year Round Shift Pattern: Hours: 36 hours per week over four days (Mon–Fri -rolling day off), shifts between 7:30am and 6:30pm (1-hour unpaid lunch) Salary: £29,952 – £33,696 (dependent on qualification level and experience) About the Role Our client, a large and friendly nursery based in Bath, are seeking an experienced, inspiring Early Years practitioner to join our leadership team in a dual-role capacity: Deputy Manager and Room Leader. As a key member of the leadership structure, you will combine hands‑on room leadership with supporting the Nursery Manager in maintaining high standards across the setting. You will play an instrumental role in coaching, mentoring, and developing practitioners, modelling exemplary early years practice, and fostering a culture of reflection and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for • Lead high‑quality, child‑centred early years practice within your designated room., • Model best practice and support the professional development of the staff team., • Assist the Nursery Manager and senior leadership team in maintaining excellence across the nursery., • Build strong partnerships with parents and families, ensuring clear and supportive communication., • Embed safeguarding, wellbeing, and regulatory requirements into everyday practice., • Support reflective practice and contribute to ongoing quality improvement within the team., • Contribute to maintaining compliance with the EYFS statutory framework, health & safety standards, and organisational policies. To be considered you will have • Early Years qualification Level 3 or above (essential)., • Proven experience in leading a team within an early year setting., • Strong understanding of play-based curriculum planning., • Confidence in coaching and mentoring others to drive improvement., • A robust understanding of safeguarding and regulatory requirements., • A reflective, positive approach to professional growth., • Excellent communication and organizational skills., • A passion for delivering high‑quality, child‑centred early years education and care., • SEND experience is desirable.
