The company specialises in bulk material handling and plant processing markets, offering services across sectors such as mining, tunnelling, quarrying, oil & gas, and more.\n\nWe are recruiting for a Structural Engineer to be an integral part of the team: This role can be based in either Sunderland OR Chorley depending on the distance of the individual (TBD)\n\nBenefits\n\n * Competitive salary £40k - £70k DOE\n\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays – ops to buy more holidays\n\n * Contribution towards eye test and glasses\n\n * Online company discount benefits site including cinema tickets and gym membership discount\n\n * Long Service Awards\n\n * Employee recognition scheme\n\n * Employee Assistance Programme\n\n * Flexible Benefits Package\n\n * 37 hours per week with a 1pm finish on a Friday\n\n * Hybrid working opportunities\n\nYour Key Responsibilities as Structural Engineer\n\n * Review project specifications and confirm scope of supply (including anticipated cost/ programme and the impact into the project team.\n\n * Prepare Civil/ Structural Basis of Design summary prior to commencing engineering works.\n\n * Produce analysis models to validate civil/ structural configurations, and to generate foundation loads.\n\n * Ensure analytical models are transferring loads as expected, and that axial forces and moments are fixed/ released as stability (& connection design) demand.\n\n * Produce hand calculations to validate connection design.\n\n * Effectively communicate design requirements to the design team.\n\n * Check Civil/ Structural drawing output (as required) to ensure that the information within reflects analytical models and calculations.\n\n * Prepare Civil/ Structural calculation reports for inclusion into the project technical file.\n\n * Deliver works in alignment with the business’ ISO 9001 processes and templates as controlled within the Quality Management System (COS).\n\n * Identification, and escalation, of all civil/ structural Technical Queries (TQ) that occur on the project.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\n * Minimum BEng (Hons) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural Engineering).\n\n * Experience in a Civil/ Structural engineering field.\n\n * Chartership Status\n\n * Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards.\n\n * Ability to use structural analytical software unaided - STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures.\n\n * Understanding of load cases and combinations, and able to deduce structures are behaving as intended through calculation or analysis.\n\n * Experience of good time management in a project delivery environment.\n\nIf this sounds like something you’d be interested in, please apply and we'll be in touch
