Job Overview & Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Leadership Development, the Leadership Development Program Coordinator supports the design, coordination, and implementation of training programs that enhance staff leadership, youth development competencies, and professional growth at LAs BEST. This position collaborates with internal teams and field staff to facilitate in-person and digital training, provide coaching and mentorship, and ensure alignment with the organization's mission and values for over one hundred staff members. The Leadership Development Program Coordinator also manages training logistics, supports curriculum development, and contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts across 200+ sites, strengthening the leadership pipeline and professional capacity of afterschool staff at LAs BEST. Core responsibilities may include: Training Program Development & Facilitation (approximately50%): • Design, develop, and deliver engaging in-person and digital training programs that enhance leadership skills and youth development competencies for LAs BEST Site Coordinators and Area Program Supervisors (APS)., • Ensure training content aligns with LAs BESTs mission, values, and youth development principles., • Facilitate workshops, coaching sessions, and hands-on learning experiences to support staff professional growth and program quality., • Collaborate with leadership and field staff to assess training needs and develop targeted learning opportunities., • Develop and curate training materials, presentations, and digital learning content for online platforms. Staff Coaching & Professional Development Support (approximately25%): • Mentor and provide ongoing coaching to Leadership Development APSs (supporting over 200 sites), equipping them with the skills to train and support Site Coordinators and APSs effectively., • Implement systems of accountability and quality control to ensure staff development initiatives lead to measurable improvements in performance and program effectiveness., • Partner with internal teams to identify best practices and ensure alignment across all professional development efforts. Program Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement (approximately15%): • Assist with the logistics and execution of leadership development programs, including communication systems, scheduling, and training event coordination., • Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to integrate leadership development efforts into broader organizational initiatives., • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to enhance training offerings and support ongoing professional learning opportunities for Site Coordinators and APSs., • Represent LAs BESTs values, youth development principles, and technical assistance (TA) strategies in all training and leadership development initiatives., • Perform other duties as assigned to support the organizations mission and goals. Data Assessment & Continuous Improvement (approximately10%): • Track training participation, engagement, and effectiveness to assess program impact and identify areas for improvement., • Utilize data and feedback from staff to refine training programs and ensure continuous learning and development., • Support the development of reports and assessments related to training effectiveness, learning outcomes, and leadership growth., • Stay informed on industry trends, youth development research, and training methodologies to enhance the quality of professional development programs. Core Competencies • Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance., • Strong ability to develop and deliver engaging in-person and digital training programs., • Knowledge of youth development principles and best practices in leadership training., • Ability to create interactive learning experiences that align with LAs BEST mission and values., • Proficiency in instructional design and adult learning methodologies., • Skilled in mentoring and coaching staff to enhance leadership skills and program quality., • Strong understanding of professional development strategies and leadership pipeline development., • Strong relationship-building skills to collaborate with internal teams, site staff, and external partners., • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret training participation and impact data to refine training programs and improve learning outcomes., • Strong attention to detail in tracking staff progress and maintaining accurate records., • Proactive in identifying trends and applying innovative strategies to enhance training effectiveness., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for facilitating workshops, creating training materials, and engaging diverse audiences., • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to align training efforts with program objectives., • Culturally responsive and committed to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment., • Ability to adapt training strategies to evolving program needs and priorities., • Proactive, flexible, and resourceful in managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications & Experience Requirements • Bachelors degree in education, child development, organizational leadership, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may also be considered (one year of relevant work experience may substitute for one year of education)., • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training development, youth programming, professional development, or related fields., • Experience facilitating training for large groups in an in-person and digital setting is required., • Background in expanded learning, afterschool programs, or youth development is highly desirable., • Experience coaching, mentoring, or supervising staff in a professional development capacity is preferred., • Strong skills related to designing, developing, and facilitating engaging professional development sessions for diverse audiences., • Experience with virtual training platforms, learning management systems (LMS), and digital training tools is preferred., • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and other relevant technology tools. Compensation $53,680.00 - $77,837.00; commensurate with experience. Work Location This position is required onsite Monday through Friday, primarily working from the LAs BESTs Central Operations office from 9:00AM to 6:00PM, including a 1-hour unpaid meal period. Due to occasional evening and weekend work that may be required throughout the year, candidates must be willing to work an alternate weekly schedule that will allow attendance at weekend training and events. Candidates must also be able to regularly travel to LAs BEST school sites and have access to reliable and timely transportation.
