Job DescriptionGeneral Manager Location: Modesto, CA About the Role Our client is seeking an experienced, energetic General Manager (GM) to lead the day-to-day operations of its franchise. This is a unique opportunity to shape the culture, business, and fan experience for a professional baseball team from the ground up. The GM will serve as the face of the organization, managing all aspects of business operations, marketing, staffing, community relations, and game-day execution. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: Based on experience and qualifications Benefits Include: * Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage * Employer 401(k) match * Paid time off (vacation, holidays, personal days) Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations * Oversee all day-to-day business operations of the club. * Build and manage the organizational structure; recruit and hire staff for all positions. * Lead, train, and motivate full-time and game-day employees. * Supervise all departments including Ticketing, Marketing, Promotions, Merchandise, Food & Beverage, and Ballpark Operations. * Develop and manage annual budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting. Sales, Marketing & Fan Engagement * Develop ticket sales strategies, pricing plans, and promotional calendars. * Collaborate with ownership to design marketing campaigns and media plans to drive ticket and merchandise sales. * Create innovative in-game promotions and entertainment experiences to enhance the fan experience. * Oversee team social media accounts, digital marketing, and public relations activities. Community & Media Relations * Serve as the primary public representative of our client's baseball club. * Build and maintain strong relationships with the City of Modesto, sponsors, and community partners. * Draft and distribute press releases; act as the team spokesperson for media inquiries. Game-Day Operations * Ensure smooth execution of all home games and events, including entertainment, PA, music, and fan interaction. * Work closely with the Head Groundskeeper and Ballpark Operations Director to ensure a first-class facility and field. * Manage team travel logistics, visiting team accommodations, and player housing programs. * Monitor daily sales reconciliations (tickets, concessions, merchandise). Financial & Administrative Oversight * Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports for ownership. * Review vendor contracts and ensure cost-effective operations. * Assist with merchandise and food & beverage inventory management. * Participate in all Pioneer Baseball League GM meetings and calls. Qualifications * 3-5 years of leadership experience in professional sports or a related industry. * Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. * Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team. * Experience in marketing, sales strategy, and fan engagement. * Financial and budgeting knowledge preferred. * Excellent negotiation, time management, and problem-solving skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fun, and hands-on environment with a flexible schedule during the season.
