Job DescriptionSalary: 45000-65000 We are seeking a Therapist in Mental Health and Substance Use to join our team! You will provide person center services in individual, family, and group settings. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Programs and provides direct services that include intake assessments/individual/family/group therapy and crisis interventions to assigned clients. Duties and Responsibilities: • Maintaining regular contact with the parent/guardian of each client; completing treatment plans and session notes within our Electronic Health Records., • Performing individual and family therapy, • Furnishing required reports to DHMH, legal system, and other involved agencies, • Participating in after-hours call schedule for the clinic; providing complete and timely documentation to support services rendered, • Evaluates the impact of therapeutic interventions upon the therapeutic milieu., • Facilitating group, • Recognizing, responding, and assisting in psychiatric crisis situations and providing the intervention necessary, • Documenting the assessment of patient progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record on an ongoing basis, • Communicating effectively with patient, staff, and physician, • Providing patients with education and instruction on Advance Directives, • Maintaining 60% direct service requirement, • Home and in-school visits may be required, • Use of own vehicle for visits to clients homes and schools, • Annual compensation negotiable, commensurate with experience, • Supervision Hours towards clinical licensure; provided by an approved LCPC and/or LCSW-C, • Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields, • Familiarity with community mental health resources, • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, • Ability to build rapport with clients

Job Description General Summary • This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses at UMMC who have greater than 12 months experience. This nurse will be competent in the skills/knowledge required and fully participate in unit governance. He/she will practice and adhere to the guidelines specified in the UMMC Professional Nurse Job Charter. Independently provides and coordinates care provided to patients within a clinical specialty. Serves as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. Demonstrates and models the full range of nursing professional practice in both care provided and in participation in development of strategies to improve patient outcomes, satisfaction with service and cost effectiveness at the unit level. Is accountable to patients and families for the processes and outcomes of care during an episode of care. Is accountable to peers for the advancement of group practice on the unit, and to the nurse manager for the totality of work performance. Qualifications Education and Experience • Competent evaluation with successful passing of probation; current on all mandatory classes/training., • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required., • Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education/year., • Member of a professional organization., • Demonstrated ability to lead others, such as effectiveness as charge nurse, preceptor, or clinical resource. Demonstrated effectiveness as a multidisciplinary team member., • Ability to learn and use computer systems in order to manage patient information., • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs., • Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives., • Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety., • Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority., • Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
