Job DescriptionQuality Technician Pay: $17.50/hr Job Summary The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality and food safety throughout the dog food manufacturing process. This role ensures that raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet company standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. The technician performs inspections, collects samples, documents results, and works closely with production to maintain consistent product quality and compliance with food safety programs. Key Responsibilities * Perform routine quality inspections on raw ingredients, in-process product, and finished dog food products. * Collect and test product samples according to established procedures. * Monitor production line parameters to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards. * Verify proper labeling, packaging, and lot coding during production runs. * Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, test results, and corrective actions. * Identify and report quality deviations or non-conformances to supervisors. * Assist in root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality issues. * Ensure compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), sanitation, and safety standards. * Conduct environmental and equipment checks as required. * Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and customer audits. * Work with production, sanitation, and maintenance teams to resolve quality concerns. * Maintain calibration and cleanliness of testing equipment and tools. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in food science, biology, or related field preferred. * 1–3 years of experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred (pet food experience a plus). * Knowledge of food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, and sanitation standards. * Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Ability to communicate effectively with production and management teams. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during production shifts. * Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs if required. * Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures. * Must be able to wear required PPE (hairnets, gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
