Position Overview As a Bilingual Legal Advocate, you will play a vital role on the front lines of survivor support. Your work helps clients navigate the legal system with confidence and dignity. From completing restraining order paperwork to offering court accompaniment, safety planning, and crisis intervention, you will be a steady source of knowledge, reassurance, and advocacy. KEY RESPONSIBILITES Legal Advocacy & Client Support • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments in English and Spanish across multiple program sites., • Guide survivors through every step of the restraining order process, including legal form preparation, filing support, hearing preparation, and accompaniment to court., • Deliver crisis intervention, needs assessments, personalized safety plans, and systems advocacy to help clients navigate both legal and social service systems., • Work closely with Laura's House teams to provide coordinated, client-centered support across all sites., • Partner with immigration law organizations to help clients access U-Visa, T-Visa, and VAWA resources., • Supervise interns and volunteers as needed., • Enter timely and accurate data for reporting requirements., • Adhere to all confidentiality standards, agency policies, and security protocols for electronic records., • Maintain professional boundaries and represent the agency with integrity at all times., • Bachelor's degree in social sciences, human services, or related field; equivalent experience considered., • Experience in family violence intervention, case management, or crisis intervention is highly preferred., • Full fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)., • Strong verbal and written communication skills., • Adaptability and grace under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment., • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds., • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance., • Ability to pass a Live Scan background check and drug test., • Authorization to work in the U.S., • Employees are occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
