Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Recovery Support Peer Specialist Department: Client Services FLSA Status: Non-Exempt SUMMARY The Recovery Support Specialist provides consistent, trauma-informed recovery support across the program. This role acts as the first line of contact for clients, supports milieu safety, and bridges communication between departments, guides clients in early recovery, and facilities structured RSPS led groups that promote healing, comping skills, and peer connection. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Monitor and document client behavior, emotional state, and participation in treatment., • Provide direct supervision during transitions, group times, and unstructured client time, ensuring a safe therapeutic environment., • Maintain facility rules, respond to incidents calmly and professionally to ensure a safe and structured environment., • Utilize grounding, de-escalation, and redirection techniques consisted with trauma informed care principles., • Report changes in client condition or safety concerns promptly to the Trauma Clinical Manager or Cinical Director., • Facilitate or co-facilitate 1-2 RSPS psychoeducation or community building groups weekly, following approved curriculum and lesson plans., • Introduce and guide clients through early 12-step recovery concepts in a trauma informed, culturally sensitive manner., • Conduct brief, structured check-ins with clients focused on grounding, emotional regulation, and comping strategy reinforcement., • Support integration of clinical skills into daily life by reinforcing treatment plan goals in RSPS interactions., • Maintain consistent presence to foster trust, rapport, and peer connection., • Document all 1:1 sessions in the client’s record, including interventions used and client response., • Collaborate with clinical staff, HTs, RSPS peers, nursing and client services for seamless daily operations., • Participate in weekly clinical staffing meetings to provide RSPS-specific updates on client progress and barriers., • Assist in preparing clients for transitions between levels of care, ensuring proper hand-off communication., • Facilitate timely information exchange across departments to support continuity of care., • Complete all required documentation within the established timeframe per policy and standards., • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policy., • Ensure group notes, attendance logs, and client progress notes are accurate, objective and complete., • Assist in preparing clients for transition from RTC to PHP. REQUIREMENTS • High school diploma or GED preferred associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field preferred., • RSPS Certification required., • 1+ year experience in residential or behavioral health setting as an RSPS or equivalent role., • Understanding of trauma-informed care and addiction recovery principles., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Must complete in house trauma-informed RSPS training within 30 days of hire. Additional responsibilities may be warranted and assigned to you as the company grows in size and locations. You understand that due to the nature of the business of Infinite Recovery, sometimes “off the usual schedule work” is required to meet the needs of the company and its clients.
