What You'll Do The Audubon Aquarium is looking for a motivated individual to add to the team at the Audubon Aquatic Center (AAC), the quarantine facility for the Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium and home to the Audubon Aquarium Rescue (AAR) program. The Keeper Aquarist is a mid to high-level position within the aquarist range. Demonstrated knowledge and experience will determine placement within the Keeper level. This position is responsible for all aspects of running the AAC, including general husbandry care of a wide range of taxa, exhibit maintenance, daily water quality testing and dosing systems according to veterinary established quarantine protocols, life support maintenance and repair of all systems. Partners with AAR to support rehabilitation efforts by maintaining all rehab enclosures within proper life support and water quality parameters to meet all USWFS and NOAA regulations governing rehab animals. Job Description JOB SUMMARY The LPN, under the guidance of the Clinical Director is responsible for nursing duties within Family Focused Recovery at Canal Landing. This individual will complete nursing screenings and nursing assessments for pregnant and parenting mothers, and their dependent children, residing at the residential center. This individual will enter all resident medications into their Electronic Health Record (EHR) and facilitate the self-administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications while maintaining accurate medication logs in the EHR. This individual will provide medical care coordination for all residents, including support with scheduling needed medical, behavioral health, dental and other required appointments. This individual will conduct groups for residents relevant to health and wellness. As the residential center opens, the LPN must be flexible and support the team in successful launch and scaling of services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conduct screenings for persons seeking admission to the program, ensuring any withdrawal symptoms are manageable within American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) 3.5, 3.3 or 3.1 levels of care., • Upon admissions of persons served to the program, complete nursing assessments within 72 hours of admission, including accurate entry of all medications prescribed to persons served into the EHR., • Facilitate the self-administration of prescribed and over-the-counter medications during med calls, including entry of all medications distributed into the EHR of persons served., • Complete care coordination for all persons served relevant to medical and behavioral health needs, including but not limited to primary care, pediatrics, psychiatric, dental, vision, and pharmacy., • Work closely with the Care Coordinator to ensure all persons served have clear discharge plans in which relevant medical and behavioral health needs are addressed to ensure continuity of care after exit from the program., • Provide education to persons served on health and wellness topics on an individual basis and in weekly Wellness Groups., • Utilize concurrent documentation and record accurate information in the EHR of each person served within 1 business day. Admissions & Discharge Coordination • Complete intake nursing evaluations and process admissions in collaboration with clinical and medical teams., • Ensure proper documentation for patient transfers and discharge instructions., • Conduct and document specified laboratory tests (e.g., urine drug screens, blood glucose monitoring)., • Assist in ordering, collecting, and documenting diagnostic tests as directed., • Identify and respond to medical or psychiatric crisis situations., • Immediately report incidents of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation per policy., • Notify the Clinical Director and/or Medical Director of emergent concerns., • Follow facility protocols for incident reporting and emergency response., • Ensure nursing practices align with state regulations, accreditation standards, and facility policies., • Work closely with clinical, medical, and operations teams to maintain compliance readiness., • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings., • Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality., • Participate in ongoing education, required certifications, and staff development activities., • Assist in training new nursing staff or support personnel as needed., • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and systems evaluation efforts.
