Job DescriptionShipyard Welder Automation Personnel Services is seeking experienced Marine Welders for a high-production shipyard environment. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with prior shipyard, marine, or naval experience who are proficient in steel fitting, fabrication, and multi-position welding. In this role, you will be responsible for working on vessel repairs, hull replacements, and structural steel projects. Candidates should be comfortable reading blueprints, laying out and fitting materials, and performing MIG and SMAW (stick) welding in all positions with a high level of precision Pay Rate$26 Per Hour Schedule and Hours Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pmShipyard Welder Duties and Responsibilities • Fit and weld structural and plate steel (up to ¾”) for hull replacements, tank work, and vessel repairs while ensuring proper alignment and structural integrity., • Perform welding using MIG and SMAW (stick) methods in all positions, maintaining high-quality welds that meet industry and project standards., • Select, set up, and adjust welding equipment and parameters based on material type, thickness, and project specifications., • Prepare materials and work areas by measuring, cutting, grinding, and fixturing components to ensure accurate fit-up prior to welding., • Operate cutting tools such as plasma cutters, oxy-acetylene torches, and propane equipment to shape and modify steel as needed., • Inspect completed welds and fitted components to identify defects, ensure quality, and meet safety and structural requirements., • Safely move and position materials using forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required., • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and follow all safety procedures to prevent hazards and ensure a clean work environment.Shipyard Welder Qualifications and Requirements, • Candidates must have a minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in steel fitting and/or welding in a shipyard or similar industrial environment., • Prior shipyard, marine, or naval experience is strongly preferred, as this role requires familiarity with vessel structures and repair processes., • Must be proficient in MIG and SMAW (stick) welding in all positions, with the ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds., • Completion of an apprenticeship program or possession of relevant welding certifications is preferred but not required., • Experience with aluminum welding is a plus and will be considered an added advantage., • Candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug screening in accordance with company and client requirements., • This position requires the ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly., • Weekly Pay, • Medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, and life insurance, • 40 Hours Service Bonus after 1 year of continuous service and 1500 hours, • 11-time consecutive winner of the ClearlyRated® Best of Staffing Client Award (2016-2026)., • Winner of the ClearlyRated® Best of Staffing Talent Award (2019-2026)., • Recipient of the Safety Standard of Excellence Award by the American Staffing Association., • Named one of the Best Staffing Companies to Work For by CIO Views Magazine., • Named one of America’s Best Temp Staffing Firms by Forbes (2025).
