Job DescriptionJob Title: House Manager Youth Group Home Company: Clark Quality Care, LLC Location:Portsmouth, VA (Multiple Residential Locations) Position Type: Full-Time Status: Leadership / Direct Care on site Position Overview Clark Quality Care, LLC is seeking a fully flexible, hands-on House Manager to oversee daily operations within our youth residential group homes. This position is a leadership role that also requires direct care responsibilities. The House Manager will ensure regulatory compliance, staff accountability, medication management oversight, and quality of care for youth. This individual serves as the primary backup when staff call out, fills uncovered shifts, covers vacation time, and ensures all doctor appointments and required community obligations are handled when no other staff are available. Full flexibility with no stipulations on availability (days, evenings, overnights, weekends) is required to be considered. Core Responsibilities Direct Care & Clinical Oversight The House Manager must be able to perform all Direct Support Professional (DSP) duties, including: • Medication administration (passing meds), • Ensuring proper completion and auditing of MAR (Medication Administration Records), • Maintaining medication logs and medication book accuracy, • Overseeing medication storage and compliance standards, • Completing and reviewing daily progress notes for accuracy and completeness, • Behavioral management and crisis intervention, • Supervising youth at all times to ensure safety, • Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living), • Meal preparation and household cleaning, • Laundry duties, • Transporting youth to:, • School/bus stops, • Doctor appointments, • Therapy sessions, • Community outings and activities, • Providing structure, emotional support, and life skills training Administrative & Compliance Duties • Maintain and audit all office files for state compliance, • Ensure required state logs are completed daily and accurately, • Conduct internal file audits to ensure readiness for inspections, • Audit medications weekly (at minimum) for accuracy and compliance, • Review staff documentation and provide corrective feedback, • Ensure all incident reports are completed properly and timely, • Monitor staff adherence to program policies and procedures, • Assist with maintaining a structured and therapeutic home environment, • Communicate with management regarding compliance risks or concerns Staffing & Leadership Responsibilities • Serve as the primary backup when staff call out, • Fill uncovered shifts as needed (days, evenings, overnights, weekends), • Cover vacation days, • Work a regular scheduled weekly shift in addition to coverage needs, • Assist with hiring and interviewing new staff, • Conduct training and orientation for new employees, • Ensure new hires understand medication protocols and documentation standards, • Assist in creating and maintaining staff schedules, • Provide leadership, coaching, and accountability to DSP staff, • Maintain professional and respectful team communication Required Qualifications Applicants must provide copies of the following certifications and documentation: • PCA (Personal Care Aide) or CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Certificate Required, • Medication Management Certification Preferred, • Must be willing to complete the 32-hour Medication Certification Course through an authorized provider (if not already certified), • Current TB test (within the last 30 days), • Current CPR & First Aid certification, • Valid Drivers License with good driving record, • High School Diploma or GED, • Ability to pass background check Experience Requirements • Experience working in a youth residential or behavioral health setting preferred, • Strong knowledge of behavioral management and de-escalation techniques, • Experience auditing MARs and medication books preferred, • Strong documentation and organizational skills, • Ability to manage multiple locations and shifting priorities, • Experience supervising staff preferred Additional Expectations • Fully flexible availability (no restrictions on days or times), • Ability to remain calm and decisive during crisis situations, • Strong leadership and accountability mindset, • Professional boundaries and ethical decision-making, • Ability to physically manage household responsibilities, • Ability to transport youth safely in company or approved vehicle, • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and state guidelines What We Offer • Leadership opportunity within a growing organization, • Opportunity to influence program quality and structure, • Competitive compensation based on experience, • Stable, mission-driven work environment, • Opportunity for continued growth within the agency
