Job Description Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Summary A Heavy Equipment Mechanic is needed to join our talented team in the, China Grove, TX area. FIVE plus years of recent Heavy Equipment Mechanic experience is preferred. Ability to work on Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, Gomaco, and other major manufacturer equipment. Essential Functions • Diagnose and repair various systems of equipment, including computer, fuel injection, carburetor, hydraulic, brake, electrical, suspension, and cooling systems., • Overhaul gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, front and rear differentials, transfer cases, and gear boxes., • Perform major tune-ups on county vehicles and road test them to ensure proper completion of repair., • Modify and fabricate special equipment, including machine parts, and braze and weld intricate equipment, snowplows, graders, and special projects., • Perform body work on vehicles and equipment, including replacement of body parts, repairing fiberglass, sanding, and painting., • Ensure proper maintenance and certification of lifting equipment, bucket trucks, and aerial devices., • Conduct forklift operator training and evaluations to ensure all operators are properly trained and competent., • Monitor and train shop personnel in the safe operation of hand tools and power equipment and ensure that all such equipment is properly maintained and safe for use., • Ensure safety glasses, face shields, welding helmets, and other safety equipment are being, • used and maintained; ensure equipment safety guards are in place and properly adjusted., • Interpret parts and service manuals in order to properly diagnose repairs needed as well as order, • appropriate parts, • Maintain accurate record keeping of all daily tasks, • Work safely and follow all instructions related to company policies and regulatory agencies during, • the performance of duties, • Perform visual inspections on equipment and provide written reports of conditions and deficiencies, • Provide own hand tools (up to 1 1⁄2” wrenches and sockets) and storage necessary to perform, • preventative maintenance on heavy equipment (larger tools will be supplied by Zachry), • Effective written and verbal communication skills, • Self-motivated and capable of following directions and effectively working in a team environment, • Ability to recognize and react to safety-related issues, • Ability to work on Caterpillar, John Deere, Link-Belt, Manitowoc/Grove, Gomaco, and other major, • equipment manufacturer machinery, • Troubleshooting and/or diagnostic skills for Engine, Transmission/Drivetrain, Hydraulic, Electrical, A/C,, • On Board Computer, and Electronic Control Module, • Welding / Fabricating experience a plus, • Computer skills a plus, • A good attitude is a MUST, • Conduct monthly safety training for shop personnel; maintain records of dates, times, topics, attendees, and distribute departmental safety information., • Ensure paints, solvents, and other chemicals are used safely and disposed of properly; maintain Safety Data Sheet documentation for materials in the shop., • These responsibilities highlight the critical role of a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Lead in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring safety, and providing technical support to the team.Company DescriptionLabor On Demand, Inc. d.b.a.
