Job Description Get Fresh Produce started in 1982 as a retail produce store in Chicago, specializing in premium fresh fruit, vegetables, specialty foods, and dairy. Essential Functions: • Preparing driver schedules, approving time off requests, discipline, and attendance issues, • Daily dispatch of drivers and assigning all equipment needed for the day, • Route recommendations for maximum efficiencies, • Directly supervise drivers and yard spotters on all facets of compliance with DOT and safe driving compliance., • Hands on management such as ride-a longs for coaching and training as needed. Safety of our fleet, drivers, and the public., • Communicate service issues to sales, customer service, and Operations team, • Works closely with Dispatch personnel and Director of transportation to provide best-in-class delivery expectations., • Coordinates with Operations to ensure customer and driver needs are met., • Participate in the hiring of Drivers: interviews, road tests, paperwork., • Participate in Safety investigations, review and reporting with root-cause analysis., • Review performance and service levels with customers on delivery experience., • Good understanding of samsara software system and ability to navigate, through samsara., • Previous experience in Transportation or Warehousing experience in a refrigerated food manufacturing or distributor operation preferred, • A minimum of a high school or GED or an associate’s degree in related field preferred, • At least 2+ years of experience in transportation with at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory capacity, • Knowledge of driver safety and DOT compliance requirements., • Proficient skills in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and common E Mail systems, • Class CDL A or B is a requirement, • Must be able to read, speak, and write English satisfactorily, bilingual a plus, • Works independently of constant direction but able to follow directions willingly and accurately, • Strong relationship and interpersonal skills, • Innovative and creative thinking, • Change management and continuous improvement focus and skills, • Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies, • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented, • Stand or sit for long periods of time, • Travel by as needed, • Sunday - Friday (Off on Saturday and another night tbd), • Must be available to work on holidays, • Health & Welfare Benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, and Voluntary Life), • Paid Time Off, • Holidays, • 401(k) with Company Match, • Weekly Paid
