Job Description Senior Events Coordinator In Our Own Voices, Inc. (IOOV) Albany, NY Full-Time | Evenings & Weekends Required About Us In Our Own Voices, Inc. We exist to advance the health, safety, and liberation of LGBTQ+ people of color across the Capital Region and beyond by building power, shifting systems, and showing up for our community every day. Through advocacy, housing access, violence prevention, health equity initiatives, and culturally affirming education, IOOV centers racial, gender, and economic justice in all that we do. Our signature events, including BIPOC Pride, Jazz in July Gala, and the Unity Through Diversity Health Conference, are powerful platforms for visibility, fundraising, and community transformation. Position Summary IOOV is seeking a Senior Events Coordinator to take a lead role in executing high-impact events while supporting sponsorship engagement and partnership growth. This is not an entry-level coordination role. This is for someone ready to own key pieces of event strategy and execution, manage moving parts with confidence, and help drive revenue through events. You will work directly with the Chief Executive Officer and senior leadership, gaining exposure to high-level decision-making, partnerships, and organizational growth. What You’ll Lead Event Execution & Ownership • Lead coordination of large-scale events (100+ attendees) from planning through execution, • Own timelines, run of show, logistics, and on-site production flow, • Manage vendors, venues, permits, and contracts with professionalism and accountability, • Ensure events are executed on time, on budget, and at a high level Revenue & Sponsorship Support • Support sponsorship outreach, tracking, and follow-up, • Assist in building and executing sponsorship packages, • Help ensure sponsor visibility and benefit fulfillment, • Contribute to revenue goals tied to events Systems & Operations • Build and maintain strong event planning systems and workflows, • Track budgets, attendance, sponsorships, and performance metrics, • Support post-event reporting and continuous improvement Brand & Experience • Help shape the look, feel, and energy of IOOV events, • Ensure all experiences reflect our mission and community impact, • Collaborate with communications to align promotion and messaging Community Presence • Represent IOOV at events, meetings, and community spaces, • Serve as a strong, professional, and welcoming ambassador Qualifications • 3+ years of experience in event planning, coordination, or production, • Proven ability to manage complex events or multiple events simultaneously, • Experience working with vendors, venues, and logistics, • Strong organizational and project management skills, • Confident communicator with relationship-building ability, • Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-visibility environments, • Willingness to work evenings and weekends Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
