Job Description General Description: The Aseptic Production Supervisor is responsible for completing assigned production duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Aseptic Production Supervisor is responsible for: (i) the performance of aseptic production and personnel across all shifts; and (ii) generating shift reports and improvement plans. The Aseptic Production Supervisor must also ensure that all GMP, SOP, HACCP, and Food Safety requirements are satisfied at all times. The Aseptic Production Supervisor completes these functions in the support of the manufacture of dairy and non-dairy products. Job Responsibilities: • Responsible for achieving assigned goals in areas of production, safety, quality, performance and cost., • Meets all production operational plans to ensure goals and efficiency requirements are met., • Monitor conditions that have or will adversely affect production or customer satisfaction, including interruption of plant utility services and bring to the attention of senior shift leadership., • Monitor the status of production lines – across all shifts – and assess current versus planned production., • Use Human Machine Interface (HMI) to monitor production and processing activity. Assess current status versus the planned status. Investigate and take action to remedy deviations from plan as necessary., • Set up, operate filling, cooler, and packaging equipment to assist in production as needed., • Ensure all required documentation is thoroughly completed, sign off and properly filled out/legible in a timely and compliant manner., • Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and equipment capabilities and identifies areas where operators can assist in resolving concerns. Coordinate maintenance activities with assigned maintenance personnel, as necessary., • Responsible for complying with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations. Address any issues of non-compliance and report them to senior shift leadership., • Communicates effectively between shifts and other departments – verbally and in writing., • Covers breaks, lunches and other staffing needs assigned by their supervisor/manager., • Compliant with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety reports concerns appropriately., • Oversees training of production personnel on production equipment, protocol and systems., • Audit the work of production personnel to ensure accuracy, quality and work completed in a timely fashion., • Assist in interviewing and selection process of production team; responsible for timely and engaging performance evaluations, administering appropriate corrective actions as pre-approved by HR. Direct work of all assigned production personnel. Furnish feedback to front line operators throughout shift., • Assist management with employee development plans – documentation and administration, to ensure a department that sustains a customer focus, flexibility and strong business acumen. Manage performance plans to include employee assignments, expectations, and goals., • Promotes and supports an environment of continuous improvement., • Supervise production team by leading by example to gain trust and integrity. Handle employee inquires and solve problems while maintain confidentiality., • Assist and support all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor., • Works in a safe manner and reports safety concerns promptly to their supervisor/lead and takes corrective actions as necessary to ensure a safe work environment., • Responsible for reporting food safety problems and initiating action and supporting SQF by maintaining food safety and food quality., • Maintain compliance with SQF certification and GMP expectations, • Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts such as adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and knowledge of weights and measure, to sufficiently handle job tasks., • Understand and respond appropriately to basic to complex employee, vendor and customer inquiries., • Read, write, and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (Other preferences will be given for special language skills when there is a business need)., • Knowledge of company's mission, purpose, goals and your role in achieving each of them., • Promote and provide excellent customer service with both customer and Byrne in mind., • Advanced mechanical ability to operator facility equipment as required in assigned area., • Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements., • Ability to interpret company documents and literature and UPC/code information., • Knowledge of general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets, etc. Ability to navigate computer, inventory and web-based systems., • Ability to trust, develop, maintain and strengthen team and partnerships with others inside and outside the organization., • Ability to have attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously in a fast paced environment., • Ability to apply critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternate solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, • Ability to implement and support various change management activities needed to improve organizational effectiveness., • GED or High School Diploma is required; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, • 3+ years direct manufacturing experience required; direct dairy industry experience highly preferred, • Better Process Control School (BPCS) certificate required, • Responsible for reporting to work at scheduled times and communicating tardiness and absences with the assigned Supervisor/Manager prior to the occurrence., • Responsible for reporting to work in a condition to work., • Responsible for being well-groomed and dressed in a business and position appropriate attire at all times, ensuring compliance with GMP dress code standards., • Comply with performance criteria, standards of conduct as contained in company policy, employment procedures and responsibilities as described in the company handbook., • Maintain a safe work environment at all times and immediately report and take appropriate action to correct a safety concern., • Responsible for completing all assigned tasks and responsibilities as assigned., • Responsible for supervising and leading by example, while providing motivational support to recognize and reward people for their achievements., • Responsible for maintaining a positive and respectful attitude., • Responsible for managing assigned personnel and equipment across all assigned shifts., • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management, including the ability to prioritize workload and coordinate break times to ensure continuous operation of assigned equipment., • Expected to immediately report equipment/tool/building damage to plant leadership., • Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift., • Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day must be approved in advance by Manager., • Normally protected from weather and temperature changes; possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy weather conditions., • May be exposed to ingredients used in the manufacture of food products including allergens, • Ability to move throughout all areas of the facility including but not limited to office, production, and warehouse environments. Including the outside perimeter of the building., • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions., • Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break., • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
